Where is your friend Quintus?
He sailed to the island.
Why will he sail to the island? (I think you have a typo in the verb here - should be perfect tense, did he sail)
He loves the island. He stays there on the island for a long time; he walks in the high forest. He has many friends on the island.
Why didn't you go to the island with your friend? Why did you stay here?
I have to work in the house because we have freed the slaves.
We have and will always have a great number of slaves. In the house, on the street, in the forests they work. They carry material (lumber). They are farmers. The slaves have earned our regard, but we will keep them.
Because our slaves were good farmers and always worked, we did not keep them but freed them. Now they are friends and allies and I will always have in memory the friendship of them.

This is really VERY simple, straightforward Latin - are you having problems? Perhaps your grammar skills are weak - it only gets harder from here on out, so you need to have a crystal clear understanding of the cases. You also need to memorize the endings for all the noun declensions and verb conjugations, as that will make it a lot easier. Then your only problem will be vocabulary, which can be time-consuming in its own right.
