This guy I liked really hurt me... He said things like, "you don't know what love is", and he really hurt me, by saying stuff like that. But, I can't help but like him. I still have feelings for him, even though he said rude stuff. My friends think I can do so much better, and I have the oppurtunity to date this other guy (who's not at all like the other gu), so what should I do?? How do I get over this guy, that I'm attracted to, but hurts me??

If they hurt you, physically or emotionally, then they aren't worth it. If this other guy is is a good guy, why not give him a chance? The first guy just sounds like a jerk.

Hey, sorry about your problem. I think you should tell this guy you like that he hurt you, and maybe he might change if he really loves you. If he doesn't respond, you have the right to dump him, he hurt you! Remember that, it is the best way to end a relationship, if it is a bad one there is no other choice. I say date this other guy! Opportunities are a once in a lifetime thing!

Happy Holidays, and best of luck!

I am curious as to what it was you did that prompted him to say that to you. Half the people on here asking these questions about relationships only give one side of the story, theirs. What happened prior to him saying that. It is really difficult to give proper advice without knowing the entire situation. Maybe you need to take a look at yourself. "You don't know what love is" is not a statement that comes from nowhere. Maybe he said that because you were flirting with that other guy in front of him or something.

I always saw some nice female with some dumb azz mean guy and wondered - what the f..... Some women just like it rough, like the mean guy and can't deal with a nice guy. They go through life being abused and treated like crap then eventually end up on Doctor Phil saying oh boo hoo poor little me... grow up- look around and see the better life, if this guy is mean now verbally he will be the first man to slap the poop out of you later on in life.. move on- please

How about recording what he said on a CD and replay it over and over again on 6.1 surround sound 100 times and then ask yourself... Do I still like this guy? Then come back to reality and give this other guy some time.

Part of your attraction is that he does not want you. Some women are like that. They are usually my friends who are divorced. They gravitate towards the wrong guy everytime. Go out with the other guy and forget about him.

Sounds like there's some missing information . . . like what prompted him to say all that stuff. Why don't you just break up with him and find a guy you can get along with? Good luck!

Attraction isn't everything. You deserve better than someone who will abuse you emotionally. Love is something weird that is indescribable and there is no way of telling if it's love, lust, or addiction.
