My husband and I will be traveling for the holidays and our 20 month old son has gotten too big for his pack and play. Any suggestions of other options we can use?

There are some great blow up bed/sleeping bag combos. They pack up small, blow up easily w/ a foot pump, and are self contained. Being that it is winter, you may want an extra blanket. You may also want to try at home for a few nights before you take so your son is use to it. They are available at the big discount stores (Target, Wal-Mart, etc) for under $20.

Depends on how well your child stays in bed. You could travel with an inflatable twin mattress, request a twin cot from the hotel (if that's where you're staying). Throw a few couch cushions on the floor and make a little bed. If he needs "walls" to keep him from falling out you could turn the couch to face the wall so the back, arms, and the wall will prevent him from rolling out accidentally.

Just be creatibe with what you have. My daughter sleeps much better in her own room (she's almost 3) so we get suites or adjoining hotel rooms so we can all get some rest.

one step ahead and baby center store at one time sold an inflatable toddler travel bed with raised sides, and another one that was unrolled, but Im having trouble getting to their website to see if they still have them. But check out thingamababy for some info http://www.thingamababy.com/baby/2006/06/toddler_travel_.html

Get him a sleeping bag of his own - he's safer on the floor than anywhere else, as long as there are not dogs who don't know him nearby.
