Yes, I honestly do read the bible.
I read it daily. mostly in astonishment of how it is interpreted by todays Christains.
I agree that the bible is a great work, with many good messages, as well as bad.
but I do not think it was written by or inspired by an actual god.

Allen, try not to get offended. I am not trying to "prove" anything. I only want to understand. Understand?

Tony the Tiger,
Again, the world is a sphere. Not a circle. A circle IS flat.

That's a really good question, and I'm sorry so many people have responded so rudely.
You're right. It's only an old book. Why then do so many people take it as gospel?
Have you ever tried praying? When God moves and touches your life, you'll believe it too.
It has answers, and it explains everything.
The one thing science can't explain is how a baby forms in the womb, how the cells know what to do.
The Bible tells us how.
Maybe you should try reading it again.
It's real.

The Bible has been around longer than any other book. God breathed into men the Words that are written. He gave us the Holy Spirit to live inside us. He has given us instructions through His prophets, and through His Word. I believe in Him, and His Word is true. If you read His Word. A lot of the prophesies have been fulfilled. Why not believe Him.

So many foolish mortals !
Christians look at a 2000 yr old text as proof because they have nothing else. They are grasping at straws due to science and history constantly disproving the christian belief system.

The proofs are that one gets the courage to throw out the trash (false beliefs)and get on with healings of many kinds. You can sit in your car in the fog and idle and say there is no road, or you can have courage and faith and proceed with care, knowing that there is a road.
It is easy for thought to park with the no gods platform, but it takes courage in this environment to have trust and faith.

How can arbitrary quotes from a 230 year old history book be considered proof of anything? (Does that explain it for you?)
