Humans evolved to eat a variety of things. Vegan and vegetarian lifestyles are a fads for rich people just like the Hollywood diet. You think a starving person would turn their nose up at ANY food put in front of them? No. You think a starving person could afford all the veggie-cook books they're hocking in the above posts? NO!
Vegetarians live longer because so many people who eat meat have unhealthy diets, so they're lumped in with people who are perfectly healthy and don't eat 20oz steaks five times a week.
A balanced diet is the key.
P.S. SOY contains phytoestrogens so it will emasculate you (that means it will KILL your sex drive and reduce your testosterone levels).

Yes, I think it would. Even though there are foods to help vegetarians get the nutrients they need, your health won't be the same. There are some meats that are really tasty. I wanted to become a vegetarian a while ago, but I was introduced to bacon and steak. If you have any questions about heath, think of yourself doing it when you are and old man or woman. That may change your mind!
MAKE GOOD CHOICES!

i am a vegetarian. no, if you are a vegan it WILL NOT ruin your health. all you need to do is eat healthy. get some books about being a vegan and read them. i personally recommend you be a vegetarian (if you are not already) before you become a vegan so then you can get the feel of what it is like. my friend is a vegan and she eats perfectly healthy and is in good shape. if you do not eat correctly then you will not be healthy but if you do eat correctly then you WILL be healthy. Also, if you are used to eating meats/milk/cheeses and then going straight to being a vegan, that can get you sick for a little while because your body isn't used to changing its eating habits so rapidly. so once again, if you are not already a vegetarian then you should be that instead of going straight into being a vegan so then your body can get used to it. after you feel like your ready to move up to being a vegan then just go for it. good luck! i hope this helped you.

What are your reasons? Tofu is a serious toxin . research for yourself. soy it is only recognized by the FDA as a binder for cardboard. you need your protein. Bless the meat and this will allow you clear conscious to consume. Yes becoming a vegan can seriously compromise your health. It is your life. you will defiantly be sick more often. Eat a 20 % cooked and 80 % raw diet and this will allow you to be kind to you and your animal friends. They came here to assist you to live. honor them by honoring yourself and assimilate their energy.
you will also have a lower libido if you eat tofu actually almost zero sex drive.

Im sure if you followed a proper diet you should be ok, but the stress of choosing what to eat each day would be enough stress to give yourself a heart attack also I dont think the human body has been designed for a vegan diet

if you want to you can, and it won't ruin your health unless you don't eat enough protein to replace the meat you won't be getting. Instead of meat, try eating fish and eggs, and if you don't want to eat those, tofu is the next best thing. Peanut butter has a lot of protein too, so does coconut milk. You can be a perfectly healthy veggin.

You must understand Vegan and vegetarian are different. Vegan is a life style, nothing that will hurt animals including clothes. Now I'm vegetarian, I feel great! If you do change over kudos, but make small changes that way you can learn how to eat, what to eat and how to cook that way. You will enjoy the life style change a lot more

Okay, well the veggies and fruit and healthy stuff won't, but without the food meat it would be kinda hard to have sooooo much energy. When i was a veggin i turned out to be more lazier, and not as much energy!!!

okay, whatever. It would greatly improve your health to become a vegetarian or vegan (can't tell which from your messed up spelling). You all are just uneducated on the subject. any research you do will tell you about the wonderful benefits of vegetarianism. like: you won't die from a heart attack. it will lower your cholesterol, and blood pressure. less likely to be fat, etc etc. plus all the mental benefits that come from not killing. good luck. check out sites like peta.com for more info

I think it depends on what reason you are doing it for, if you are doing it for your own health, such as for weight and dieting then go for it. But if it's just because of no reason, i dont think you should.I think that being a "veggin" has it's advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is that it can help you lose weight and is good for feeling healthy. The disadvantage is that at times your body needs meat, and such but it's upto you dont worry about your friends. :)
