Strange, given that poverty is a huge reason women have abortions.
Strange, given that Jesus' whole mission was about helping the poor and had nothing to do with keeping gays from marrying or stopping abortion.
A shame, because republicans use these issues to gain power and enact policies that hurt the poor.

Interesting that the number of abortions has GONE UP during the presidency of Bush, when compared to the presidency of Clinton. This most likely due to Bush's "screw the poor" policies.

You don't have to be an economic Genius to see that Reaganomics is a sham has NEVER done anything but increase our debt and make the poor poorer. Problem with many economists is that this voodoo economic theory has become a kind of unsubsantiated dogma within the econ departments of our universities. Supply side doesn't work. IT NEVER HAS WORKED.

they are not real Christians, they just like to pretend they are. Some times I think they have deluded themselves and others so much that they themselves don't even realize they're not Christian. They have lost their way and can't even see it.

How do you know what conservative Christians care about? Have you taken a poll or interviewed any of them? If what you are stating is true however, I would guess it's because Christians in general are more concerned with people's eternal destiny than they are with how comfortable they are in the relatively short time we all have on this planet.
Abortion takes the life of the most innocent and helpless people on this planet. Just because it's legal doesn't mean that in effect it isn't murder. What's the difference between someone killing a baby a day after it has been born or a month before? If a mother hires someone to kill her week old child they're both on their way to prison if they get caught? So why is it "OK" for her to tell a doctor to go ahead and kill her soon to be born child? What's worse, being poor or being murdered?
The issue of gay marriage is about getting the government to agree with the notion that being a homosexual is the same as being a heterosexual and that there is nothing wrong with being a homosexual your whole life. In the short run that sounds kind and compassionate, live and let live. But from an eternal perspective that's leaving people in the dark about what God has to say about someone who never repents from that lifestyle.
1 Corinthians 6:9Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
So if someone is going down a path that will lead to eternal suffering should people care about that more than if someone doesn't have as much as someone else? Jesus said "The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me." People need to find Jesus whle they still have a chance not be coddled in their sins and told lies that lead them down the road to Hell.

ah you might have found a secret of organized religion sir! todays churches are social clubs for the blue suits and Buicks of society, from that platform they steer the beliefs and social fabric and conscience with feel goody religion? Republicans just duplicate it on a national level? the WASP's are having a hard time accepting their plight as more immigrants come in with different moral and social differences,as time goes by a change is seen, look at California? more Buddists? New England was a protestant stronghold and the Bible Belt the cast offs and fringe groups?as for poverty, you are asking why? money is not soon parted from greed? close as I can understand it?

There would be unable to be rules against sin because of the separation of Church and State. rules ought to pertain to a minimum of something that does no longer characterize faith in any shape, type, or vogue, yet a lawful way of coping with some crime. Homosexuality isn't a criminal offense contained in the eyes of the regulation. The regulation would desire to grant a rattling that the church thinks that homosexuality is a sin. further and extra states and international places are beginning as much as permit same intercourse marriages inspite of ways ANY church feels on the situation.

1. This is a statement, not a question.
2. Your statement is inacurate. It is a documented fact that Christians and conservatives give more to charity than liberals and non-christians.
3. Poverty is neither a reason nor an excuse for abortion. Adoption is ALWAYS an option, and with safe haven laws in nearly every state, a child can be LEGALLY abandoned with no consequences.
4. The destruction of the family unit IS a cause of abortion AND poverty. When you compromise your values, there are ALWAYS consequences.

Jesus's mission was not simply helping the poor. If He was interested mostly in helping the poor, why did He spend so much of His time on religious and moral teaching? That is what He came to do, to save souls. He wants us to help the poor, but souls are of the highest importance.

It's true that My Holy Word talks a lot more about helping the poor and I spoke a great deal about visiting people in prison.
My best guess is they are getting their scripture from the lost Gospel of Self Righteousness. You don't get one of those until after you've been born again. Then you get the "special scriptures"

you've made a huge general statement "christians don't care for the poor" How do you know that? The one thing that comes to your mind when you think of christians is abortion and homosexuality. In other words christianity = negativity. That's a huge distortion and unfair and a huge generalization. If you think that Christianity is politics your out of your mind. I guess you don't believe that Jesus Christ is alive in his people, and if that's the case you won't see light even if it stares you in the face.

I disagree. At least at my church (and I'm a Conservative Christain) we spend more time, money, and effort feeding the poor, providing job training, connections, blood bank, home care--in other words: serving--than the political issues of which you speak.
I will grant you that some behave as you speak... but I would disagree that it is many.
