first of all Pilate didn't put the crown of thorns on Jesus head, the mocking common soldiers did. as to the robe, you haven't specified if you are asking what colour Pilate was wearing or Christ.

Flowering vines decorated the courtyard of some of the roman government structures. When the flowers were picked the vines would be rolled so that they might be handled better to be discarded or used for other reasons. So the "Crown" was already made when the centurion placed it on his head while having drunken evening's fun. The "Crown of Thorns" is more symbolic, as to being the reward of labors upon the land with the beasts of the fields.

Pilate never did such thing.

The soldiers did...Matthew 27:29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put [it] upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
