I make Christmas AMAZING for my daughter. We call it the "holiday home". We recently moved and she has COMPLETELY bonded with the neighbor WHO doesn't find Christmas important.

MY predicament...........I want to make everyday a "holiday JOY" for her, she wants to include her friend. I feel I must tone it down, as her friends family doesn't "really" care.

My question.........Do I sacrafice the "amazing" Christmas I want to give my daughter daily (she doesn't seem to care......she loves her friend) or do I "impose" myself on THEM.......OR do I tone it down with style and remember THIS year in future Christmases?

Good input please!

I'm such a Christmas fan... i just love it. My Apartment also looks like the North Pole ;)

I think it is important to carry on the Christmas cheer as you have every other year. I wouldn't force her friend into being as "Merry" as say what you are. But still try and include her in some of the fun... she may like it and might even convince her family to start celebrating Christmas a bit more! Also they are both 7! This is the prime age for Christmas magic! Don't deprive your daughter of this until she is a bit older.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU & YOUR DAUGHTER!!

Myself I think Christmas should be spent with family. And only family it is your time with your daughter and before u know it she will be all grown up with kids of her own. Enjoy every Holiday while u can. Holidays are so much fun when they are little.

dont ever compromise your family values and traditions for anyone...you daughter will remember all these christmas and do the same with her children...if her friend or friends family is not comfortable with what you are doing then they need not be at your home at christmas. who knows you might just spark an interest in her friend!!
