The sixth commandment, "You shall not commit adultery” teaches us that we should realize the unity of the family unit; respect the gift of sexuality God has given you; stay committed to one woman; respect other people dignity; and respect the 2 purposed of sex which are procreation and to show love. Why is this an important message for today's world? and Why is this message a challenge to today's culture and values?

Never has infidelity been so accessible then it is in today's society. This is an important message to today's world because we need to turn the world around for our children. What kind of example are we setting? Are we being good, responsible parents? Sex is for love between two MARRIED people, and we need to stress this to our young people of the world. God says he will never destroy the Earth like he did with the flood. However, He did promise to send His Son again. He will not destroy the Earth, but make it pure again, but only for those who follow in Him. Our children need saved. It is probably a cliche by now, but do we want to be "left behind". I don't! This is a huge challenge to a world full of Internet porn, dating sites looking for married people, and just destroyed values of thinking casual sex is ok. It needs to stop today! God needs to be shoved back in the public's face. We need to start "offending" more people. Why can't we talk about or see God in public? I am starting a site, www.savereligion.org about these types of issues. I just started it the other day, but it's message needs to be heard. Let us save this world!

Because allot of our world lacks morals and a sense of responsibility and a true understanding of the repercussions of ones actions. Most people go through life doing what they do, not giving a care about consequences. Or maybe the words "forgive them Lord, for they know not what they do" absolves them of any wrong doing. I think the world is veering more and more away from the spiritual and this makes it easier to be tempted by the "dark side" of our nature.

Maybe the message is a challenge to today's culture because the message is archaic and needs to be updated or changed altogether.
Remember, the church did not believe cutting open a dead body was "Christian". If everyone had listened to the church instead of questioned it, we would be several hundred years behind where we are now as a species. You would not be typing on one of those "devil boxes" (computer) I can guarantee you that.

because with a 60% divorce rate many ppl are adulterers to the christain 10. Im not sure about the gewish 10.

well right now i think society is in a sort of decadence in that the family and religion don't play such a central role in the lives of individuals anymore. I think the morals that these two institutions used to place in the individual are no longer being emphasized. I blame it on tv, technology... and society and the media. its just a change of the times...
