They have chosen their way of life. The ones who do not wish to remain homeless find ways to help themselves. There are already so many programs in place, and there are too many success stories to really believe that they cannot help themselves. The ability to prosper begins with self-motivation and will power.

Having been homeless, I think there should be more jobs with a living wage, not a minimum wage, and there needs to be more support for homeless people. When I was homeless I was told to go to my parents, even though they were the ones that had thrown me out. No one cares that there is no longer any support for the homeless. All the federal funding there once was has gone into the war effort. And people wonder why Bush isn't very popular.

The Cherry Street Mission in Toledo, Ohio has a very good program that teaches job skills. Ask them how they do it.

most of them choose to be homeless. and if you gave them enough money to get a home, clothes, job, they would be homeless again as soon as it was time for them to pay the rent again.(most, not all)

I think the life sentence given to felons needs to end. I am talking about lifetime criminal records. If a man does his time that should be the end of it. If the state feels it is safe enough to release the person then end the life sentences.

That's 2 different questions!
1. No
2. Depends on if he is mentally ill, sick, elderly, etc... Assuming it is a healthy sane person, I suppose I'd try to help them get a place with state and federal money and then encourage them to get a job.
