Nothing, but hypothetically More rain - cos it saves paper, so it saves trees, therefore more rain.
If you mean advantages, then there are many, CAD sketches are easy to correct, each feature is linked to one another so it is more controlable.
I was a sophomore & had a friend who was a CAD drafter(paper & pencil style). this guy gives a dimension 5mm for a 50mm hole. he drew it correctly but gave a wrong dimension. so the produced part came with 5mm hole & the maintenance workers had to use sand paper to take off the extra. See, i am 95% positive this wouldnt have happened in CAD sketch. you see what you get before you buy/ make.

Advantages of CAD: Revisions - you don't erase a hole in the drawing on the 8th rev. Similar parts - a good designer learns to copy and modify wherever possible as it is much more efficient than starting from scratch each time. Concept sharing - you can email copies to multiple people and get feedback quickly without having to make and ship bluelines. Documentation requirements - most industries want a paper trail and for long-running companies data storage is a lot less expensive with less space requirements than rows upon rows of file storage. Advantages of freehand: You don't have to worry about compatibility between your clients and your software. Your drawing can't corrupted by a computer issue. You don't have to worry about learning the next release and paying for the new software upgrade.

None, unless you own stock in an eraser company! I guess a paper and pencil is handier than a computer while you're walking around jotting down specs, dimensions, or schematics, but CAD is the only way to go for a permanent record. Whether you're drawing the head of a pin or a map of Los Angeles County, you can draw it full-scale in CAD, and print it in any scale that's handy. You can also carry a 2,000 page set of drawings around the world in your pocket in CAD. The advantages go on and on.

CAD sketches while precise, lack the uniqueness of freehand sketches. I have drafter both ways, prefer drafting by hand. Corrections in CAD can be quiet tedious!

As a freehand draftsman, CAD is only faster.
Most that I've seen are lacking in showing info easy to read.
Overall nothing beats a proper freehand drawing.
Experience in both has taught me this.
