Each country has its own unique lifestyle, culture, laws and government. To create one world instead of different countries would completely destroy all that. It would create a different life style, culture, laws and government.

What about language barriers? Would different areas have to give up their language and learn another? What about a government? You can't have one government dictate everything, because then it becomes a dictatorship. If you have many governments, then you still have borders.

Hawaii is a US state, Puerto Rico is not a US State. It is a territory. There is a difference.

Why would Mexico want to join? It recieves millions of dollars a year in aid. Why would Canada want to join? They have better benefits for their citizens. Even though it does cost more, the help is always there.

Your logic is flawed.

We don't have one government. If we have individual governments, then we must have borders. Otherwise you will be living in a communist, facist, muslim and/or dictatorship. . .

As long as there are differing points of view and different ways to govern, there will be borders and different countries.

HAWAII is a state in our union, but PUERTO RICO is not. (I think that is what bconehead was speaking of about you being illiterate.)

Why would Canada and Mexico want to become a part of the US? They get more by being their own countries. I mean, Canada has free healthcare to all citizens (we pay through the nose for it), and Mexico gets aid up the wazoo from us as a poor country. They would lose by becoming a part of the US.

When I was a child I wondered this too, and this is the conclusion I came to.

Each country has problems that are uniquely their own. A world government would mean that people on the other side of the planet might be making decisions for me. Now people from around where I live, understand the issues that are of importance here.

Could you living wherever you do make good decisions for the people living in southern Mexico. Would you understand their culture, and needs of their community. Would you want them making decisions that affect your life.
