Yes, of course there are other galaxies, but the speed of light is not constant. The best measurements of light in a vacuum has been precisely 299,792,458 m/s. But in truth a vacuum cannot exist, nor does “c” account for all quantum variables.

A tail that long would take a long time to see. I am a Christian. I don't see the universe as tiny. Our galaxy is huge, and there may be a billion more. This is more than I can imagine. If we were to go to our sun at the speed of light, it would take about 8 minutes. Since light is 3X10 to the 8th (power) meters per second, then this becomes a huge number.

A have been working in the astronomy profession for 10 years.

FACT:

Andromeda, the Milky Way's nearest galaxy, is 3 million light years away.

We have seen galaxies over 10 billion light years away.

The universe is guaranteed to be at least 10 billion years old.

Time is one of the four dimensions where people are confined. God is not confined in any way, time or space. Do not limit God's works of miracles by time or space. How much time did Jesus have to have, to change water into wine at the wedding in Cana two thousand years ago?

In the Beginning God created heavens and earth.
God gives you air to breathe and sunshine to enjoy.
God gives you water to drink and food to eat.
God gives you a wonderful body and sound mind, to live.
God loves you, and you are precious to Him.
Son of God died on the Cross to save us from condemnation.
Jesus’ love is boundless and everlasting.
We have the hope of Heaven through Jesus.
Life therefore has fantastic and glorious future!
(Digestion of above can even prevent depression and suicidal thoughts.)

Astronomers estimate that there are one hundred billion galaxies, with one hundred billion stars in each. Do the math. A galaxy 6,000 light years away in right in our back yard.
*** Someone below said things are slowing down - but they're speeding up, just the opposite. Hubble proved it.

Of course at least 75% of Christians are literate. Creation of the universe had nothing to do with speed. xx

CEM I love your answer.

blackmann What you said and I kiss you all good night. xx

I don't know. I know that it appears there are many galaxies. I think the universe is a wonderous place. I'm not sure about the speed of light. The laws of entropy would make it possible that everything is slowing down. Makes sense to me.

I believe speed of light BEFORE the fall of man could have been instantaneous.

God spoke all things into existence.

From the beginning of the Creation God made them male and female..."-- Jesus (Mk. 10:6)

Scripture says God SPOKE all things into existence with His Word:
" By the Word of the Lord were the heavens created, and all the host by the breath of His mouth. For HE SPAKE AND IT WAS DONE; HE COMMANDED AND IT STOOD FAST". (psalm 33:9)

You cannot assume that each 'day' in Genesis is millions of years because the "sun , moon, and stars" were created the Day AFTER the "plants, and green trees"... (Not possible if there were millions of yrs.)
Don't be deceived...
The order of creation days DOES NOT allow it for each 'day' to be millions of years.

Well I dont know if it changed from its original speed... however, if light was created before it was contained in the stars, we wouldnt need the billions of light years to see them.
