My boyfriend bought me a puppy for christmas (early xmas present) he bought me a yorkie he says he paid 2,500 for the dog and I love it so much it's adorable. the problem is, I have been planning on breaking up with him after christmas, didn't want to do it before because I didn't want him to be depressed around Christmas. So now I feel really bad because he got me such a great gift. I don't know what to do???

His little trick worked!! Shine it on, for a while....thats all.

THEN BLOW him away. .. ha. So why don't you like him?

$2,500.00 for a yorkie? Doubtful, but an interestingstatement nonetheless. The fact that he told you how much he spent for a gift is digusting to say the least. He probably knows you intend to break-up which is why he gave you such an "expensive gift". Seems he knows its not working but doesn't how what to do to fix it.

Is there anything he can do to fix it?

If not, whatever you do, do not give the puppy back! Get him a gift of equal or greater value (but don't give him a pet). Have a great holiday together and see if things can be mended. Tell him why you feel the relationship isn't working and give yourselves time to make adjustments.

By the way, ending a relationship should be a descision you both come to, not just yours or his alone. Unless of course he has done some unforgiveably act that dutifully throws himself out of your life.

It is very selfish to plan a break-up all by yourself and waiting until after the holidays so you can feel magnanimous is really awful. I say this because I don't think you know what you are doing.

He is crying out (albeit badly as most men do) to you to tell him what he is doing wrong so he can fix it or at least attempt to.

Now be the bigger person like women are supposed to be and give him a list of your deal-breakers because it is time to re-negotiate the relationship. Then ask him to make a list of his deal breakers for you.

Dont be such a *****. Open you're heart aqnd the truth will be revealed.

I think you waited until after Christmas so you could get your gift.....not because you didn't want him to be alone.
Just break up with the guy if you don't want him. Don't lead him on....leading him on will just make the breakup harder.
