First of all, observe the way he talks with you. Is he more friendly towards you than with other girls? Does he like to hang out with you one on one? Does he seem mayb, a tad bit shy or nervous around you? And his friends...are his guy friends all glancing at him when he talks with you? observe everything, there might be some sort of signal
2) while flirting is the key to finding out, it really depends on the guy's personality. Some guys are actually turned off by certain flirtations
3)umm, you could always ask oen of your best girl friends who probably know his friends but dont go spreading it around or soon the whole school will know your crushing on him, gossip travels fast.
4) straight forward is always the best way, stops your confusion but you may risk losing a good friend if he isnt into you after all. Certain guys love bold girls but some may find it awkward, it all depends on the guy

How long have you known him? If he just starts acting kind of distant or flirty he likes you. you need to tell him how you feel though. Guys like straight- forward confident girls. NEVER let a friend ask him out for you. Take a chance, if he dosent like you big deal! Find out now or never.
