well very quickly on th excersice, you should train working only your fast twitch muscles (the muscles that you use to stop quickly, and run fast, and jump high) because working your slow twitch builds bulk and volleyball requires speed. Now, working on things skill wise..
1) Find a wall. Practice your swing against the wall for a long while everyday. This will not only help you with strengthening yor shoulders but also in contacting the ball properly, and properly swinging your arms (both go up, find he ball with your left (if your a righty) and swing at the highest point and snap the wrist to bring the ball down).
2) Set to yourself. Practice setting the ball sraight up really low while focusing on the words imprinted on the ball. The goal is to set the ball (not too high) and be able ot t read those same words as it goes up and comming down (hence no spin). this helps your fingers and release of the ball.
3) Confidence- Have confidence in yourself and in your teammates. If you know you can do it, and you remain with that attitude, you will succeed.

I would do some conditioning... like running around the block, or sprints or something. Also, just taking a volleyball and setting it to yourself, or passing it high, and then setting it and repeat, would make you better. Make sure you stretch every ngiht to improve your flexibility... and drink plenty of water! My bio teacher said that after a hard workout, if you drink enough water it will wash out the harch acids in your muscles that cause soreness

To practice volleyball at home, it helps to take the ball and hit it against the wall, alternating between the serving position and spiking position. Another thing I do is work out at the gym (if you can) because it helps build your muscles so you can jump high on the court

Practice. outside, in your room, get someone to practice with you. The best way to get better is to go to a volleyball court and play with really good players.

It all depends on where you play and what you need help with.
The best things to do is practice, speak to your coach and find out what you need to work on and how to do it, and do research. I would also find out camps around that you can attend in the off season, and go to them. Camps will offer you endless ways to improve yourself and your playing, and you will get the eye of many different people - not just your coach. Sometimes the honesty is harsh, but in the end, you will play better with the information.
Good luck!

Practice. If you have a v-ball at home try some drills where you keep the ball going up in the air while hitting it up and down with your arms in v-ball fashion. Also practice setting using just the first three fingers on either hand (thumbs, pointer, and middle). Also if there is someone in your school who is on the v-ball team who is really good ask her if she can show you some helpfull drills that can help you.

Practice!!!!! But don't over-practice, because your body gets tired of doing the same drills over and over again. Try doing like two or three drill a day for a few days, and then switching what you are doing.
