It sent me throug the roof. I had two horrible panic attack on it. It killed my libido too. As for the runs sure why not all of it is really bad for physically. not to meantion totally addicting.

I've been on Lexapro for 3 years and let me tell you the side effects at first almost made me stop using it! I stuck with it and now it's great, better than anything else I have ever been on. Yes ,the diarrhea is normal. Keep taking it and your body will adjust. Pretty soon there will be no side effects that you feel. Hopefully you will just feel better. Good luck---Angel:)

I took lexapro for 6 months once because I was really really depressed. I liked the drug because it helped me feel so much better. Fortunately I was able to get off it later and now I don't take anything nor am I depressed.
Anyway, if you just got on the drug you're probably just experiencing the effects of it on your body. Hang with it for a couple of weeks. If you are still having problems then see your doctor. Like with all drugs some people can't take some of them and others can.

I am on 20mg of lexapro and have been on for almost 2 years.
In the beginning I did have side effects..
vomiting
diarrhea
fatigue
I am on it for my anxiety/panic disorder and in the beginning it did make my anxiety worse. However, it did get a lot better and I am pleased with it.
Maybe you could not increase fast and let your body adjust. I have a friend who cannot handle any more then 5mg of lexapro and that works for her.
Good Luck to you.. !

while I was on the 10 mg I was pretty good, didn't have the runs that I recall. When my doc put me on 20 mg I got into a mental fog, and eventually started having suicidal thoughts. That is not fun. If you have any symptoms like that, seek help IMEDIATLY. For symptoms like the runs, I would wait to see if they went away in a week or so, and if they don't, contact your doctor.
ps. I am now on Wellbutrin, but was on lexapro for 6 mo.

I've been on it for about two years now. I'm very pleased with how I'm feeling. I have not experienced any side effects. Yours sounds unusual. Let your doc know about it. It might not be at all related to your medication.
