I like the self designation you offer. I believe evolution (a reasonable theory based upon observation) and Christianity (a way of living which advocates love, forgiveness, and tolerance of diversity) can coexist. Evolution theory does not have to discount some sort of internal or external ordering principle. Yet, unlike the fundamentalist dittoheads, scientists do not resort to magical explanations for physical events.

I'm a Christian and I believe in Natural Selection. It just makes plain logical sense. Stupid deer runs out on the road, gets hit and doesn't get to reproduce. Smart deer stays away from the road and is allowed to reproduce more smart deer. Logical sense.
Besides, Darwin himself was a Christian. He went to a clergy school and I don't believe he ever tried to make the claim that we exist without God.
God gave science to us as a wonderful gift. Adam himself was a zoologist. The first step to understanding the world around us is naming things and Adam was given the responsibility to name the animals. Yea science!

Theistic evolutionism is a compromise between materialistic evolutionism and Biblical creationism. I can very well accept Biblical creationism on scientific basis, without the adulteration.
Plz contact Institute of Creation Research in Southern Califonia.
Read Dr. Henry Morris's writings will help you.

I am! I am!
I think that science is the most reasonable explanation and most likely explanation for 99.9% of topics in our world.
But I know that science has proved it impossible that absolutely nothing can explode into something, or indeed if evolution is completely random and unguided. So that is where God comes in. Also, science cannot explain morality, right or wrong, etc. That is where common sense, tolerance, love, and a sense of unity comes in.
My opinion, but think about it.....

I'm not a Christian, but I do believe in God and in evolution. The ones who are saying you can't be both are the ones who believe the Bible is 100% fact and was written by God himself. Some believers know to question the Bible, it was written by men and men make mistakes. God wants us to think for ourselves and believing that God had a hand in evolution is doing just that.

it is authentic. Many Christians although do no longer accept as true with the Bible besides, no longer all Christians bash the bible in peoples faces (yet many do) you may be Christian and understand the very truth of evolution....and perchance, only perchance settle for both creation and evolution..and why no longer? Evolution is how God created and creates the international. Evolution is the respond to how and what, no longer why or who. There are Christians that fairly have brains, and use them, subsequently understand the very truth of evolution and settle for it.

Arrggghhhh! A Christian with intelligence & common sense! I feel my world collapsing!.....
No, wait, seems like a good person.....maybe it'll be okay!
Thank you for your clear thinking! I am not a Christian (though I support most of "Christ's" ideas), and have always been baffled by those who believe in a "God" who could build a world in seven days, but apparently believe He would not be smart enough to create the evolutionary process!

Then why does it say that He created the Earth in 7 days?
And before you quote any "a day is like a thousand years" to me - remember that He gave a context in creation. It says that he created the light, and "God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day."
He has just firmly established that He is talking in terms of evening and morning as a day, and then He talks of the 7 days of creation.

You can't be both....you're just confused., and don't know the Word of God:
"From the beginning of the Creation God made them male and female..."-- Jesus (Mk. 10:6)
Scripture says God SPOKE all things into existence with His Word:
" By the Word of the Lord were the heavens created, and all the host by the breath of His mouth. For HE SPAKE AND IT WAS DONE; HE COMMANDED AND IT STOOD FAST". (psalm 33:9)
God SAID 'Let there be light and it was so"- Genesis
" And God SAID. "LET THERE BE lights in the heavens..."
etc. , etc.
You cannot assume that each day is millions of years because the "sun , moon, and stars" were created the Day AFTER the p"plants, and green trees"... (Not possible if there were millions of yrs.)
Don't be deceived...
The order of creation days DOES NOT allow it!
Most real science confirms the Bible. See here: http://everystudent.com/forum/science.html
