This is an easier translation;
6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
another words, stop worrying and being full of anxiety's, trust the Lord in everything, through prayer and petition, giving thanks in advances, letting all your requests know to God!

Another version says "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." I think it makes more sense that way. Like, don't worry about anything, and if there's something on your mind then ask God about it, don't freak out about it. Hope that helps!

Another invaluable aid that Jehovah provides to strengthen our trust in him is the precious privilege of prayer. The apostle Paul lovingly tells us: “Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let your petitions be made known to God.” “Everything” can include our feelings, needs, fears, and anxieties. The more frequent and heartfelt our prayers are, the stronger our trust in Jehovah will be.
When Jesus Christ was on earth, he sometimes went to a lonely place by himself to pray undisturbed. Before making weighty decisions, he even spent all night praying to his Father. (Luke 6:12, 13) It is not surprising that Jesus’ trust in Jehovah was so strong that he was able to endure the most gruesome test that has come upon anyone.
His last words on the torture stake were: “Father, into your hands I entrust my spirit.” That expression of confidence demonstrated that to the end his trust in his Father was undiminished, even though Jehovah did not intervene to save him.

We are being to put our full trust in God and not to be consumed by worry about matters in our life.
A better translation is :
Phil 4:5-7
The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

What this verse is saying that we as Christians should not be anxious for anything but when you pray first of all thank God and then he will give you peace in your heart and mind. But also go back to the scripture that says when you pray believe you receive and you shall have it.

other translations: "Be *anxious* for nothing...". I think that is a bit easier to understand. Or paraphrased, "Don't worry about any thing, but instead let God know what you want/are concerned about."
I'm not a Christian, but i thought I'd try to help since I knew the verse. Peace!

you should give all your cares your worries to the Lord for he cares for us its like worrying is paying interest on troubles that have never happened we have no control over things outside our own lives put people you pray for in Gods hands because we can't change them but he can.

It means: don't worry. Be thankful. Let God handle it once you give it over to Him.
