Hey there...
Depends on where you want it and what it represents.
Lower back is the most popular....tribal...mine is a sunflower with the tribal......
get one to represent your hubby and what he does for a living...that's my next one :)
Take care

You didn't say where you wanted to put this tatoo, so this is goin to be like a shot in the dark, but here goes.

Around the ankle: a chain of roses or other flowers
Near the ankle: any type of Celtic design
On the back above the panty line: Ivy w/ lattice work going across the back
Anywhere on the body: Your fave flower, Winnie the Pooh, Yin/Yang design, Celtic Cross, setting sun, your husbands' platoon patch design, fairies, Butterflies, Birds, Dog, Cat, any other kind of animal you might like.

When you go to a tatoo artist shop, make absolutely certain that they use sterile, throwaway needles, or that they use an Autoclave, which sterilizes the needles that they use to inject the ink. Also make sure the artist wears gloves. Check the place out to make certain that it is clean...everywhere. Especially the work area. You can get a nasty staph infection from dirty needles, not to mention HIV/AIDS.

They will also have books that you can look through of the artists work. A lot of tatoo artists are able to draw freehand very well. So if you have a fave pic you can take it with you and that person might be able to draw it on your body. Otherwise you can pick out something from their sketch book.

Have fun! I have two tatoos and I love them!

I have a butterfly...but the best is one that suits you and your personality! Don't get anything you think or know you'll regret later. And maybe try henna or a temp. b4 getting the real thing, to make sure this is something you want to do.. Finally take a visit to the shop to pick a few out!

Lotz of Luck! AriP

Well according to your screename, your husband is in the military...so why not get something relating to that? I used to know somebody who had a butterfly with an American flag design.

Your tattoo should be a reflection of who you are. It may be a good idea to sit and think for a while about what is really important to you.

It is going to be a part of your body for as long as you live so think deeply about it.

Ultimately everything is temporary even our bodies...

i need some more ideas about things that you like. it's pretty vague for you to ask what to get. what do you like? just off the top of my head i can think of:
a gargoyle
a coffee mug
a heart with with a sword thru it
a shoe with wings on it
a bowl of spaghetti.

what about something to do with your ethnicity? i am about to get a tattoo on sunday that represents where my mom comes from and to show how proud i am to be who i am. whatever makes you feel good. it doesn't have to be something spectacular or amazing. as long as you will love and cherish it always. you should check out my tattoo artist's page and see the range of things that he can do with tattoos. maybe you'll get some good ideas there.

I have two. Don't get one in a place that can sag or get stretch marks or is visible wearing anything you would like to look elegant in.

Dearest, your body is the temple of God,and God took his time to create you in a fearful and wonderful way,if he wanted you to have a tatoo,he would have created you with one...Have a blessed day.
