Thomas was rejected primarily because it specifically rejected structured authority and meeting places, teaching that Christ's wisdom was for all and that it could be found within, that you did not have to turn to others to find Christ or God.

Needless to say, this is not exactly what a power-structured system would want.

The choice of books in the Bible was purely political.

Early Christians did not believe the Gospel of Thomas to be a valid Gospel. In the early days of the Church, there were many gospels written by adversaries of Christianity (Gnosticism, Montanism) that tried to discredit the teachings of Christ. Much of what was written in these books contradicted valid writings.....The Gospel of Thomas being one of these.
The Council of Nicea did not reject books of the Bible. It was a council to decide foremost on the question that had been raised about Christ's equality with God the Father.
Luke Chapter 2 also speaks of Jesus as a boy.

Even if the Gospel of Thomas could be shown to contain some authentic statements of Jesus, no convincing case has ever made that any given saying of Jesus in the Gospels on saying in the Gospel of Thomas.
The canonical Gospels are more historically trustworthy. The early Christians were meticulous in preserving Jesus' words and deeds. The Gospel writers were close to the eyewitnesses and pursued facts. There is good evidence that the Gospel writers were honest reporters. Overall picture of Jesus presented in the Gospels is the same.

Gospel of Thomas is putting very unlikely words to Jesus' mouth like "Every woman who will make herself male will enter the Kingdom of heaven"

No gospels were rejected at Nicea. The Church blanketed each and each and every artwork of Scripture that replaced into study publicly in any Church in the course of the entire Roman Empire. They even blanketed various books that were no longer study in any church homes (like Hebrews, Revelation, the Epistles of James and Jude, and so on.). Esther replaced into blanketed, even with the actual incontrovertible reality that it replaced into rejected by both Jews and Christians on the time. and then, at the same time as all replaced into reported and achieved, they somewhat extra in even extra books at the same time as they began printing copies (like Hermas, the Epistles of Ignatius, and the entire corpus common because the 'Apocrypha'). Their purpose replaced into to contain all Scriptures functional to the Church - no longer to eliminate books that they did not like. the in problem-free words books that were no longer blanketed were truly pagan metaphysical treatises like the Gospel of Mary Magdalene, secret James, secret John, and so on. for sure, in case you want a gospel that describes the universe as a large menstrual discharge formed by a donkey-headed demon rapist (Apocryphon of John), or that the Holy Eucharist is the ejaculate of the presiding priest (Ophites), then be at liberty to stitch those 'rejected' books into the lower back of your Bible... Lest all people misinterpret my sarcasm, maximum persons that imagine that gnostic files were removed from the 'canon' of scripture for some subversive purpose have in no way somewhat regarded on the repulsive doctrines that they somewhat contained.

The gospel of Thomas is a collection of the sayings of Jesus that starts out---"These are the secret sayings that the living Jesus spoke and Didymos Judas Thomas recorded. "

You are talking about the infancy gospels.

To answer your question the gospel of Thomas is a true collection of the sayings of Jesus.

The reason why it was not included in the bible was because it actually was a collection of the sayings of Jesus. The true purpose of the bible was to subvert the message of Jesus, not pass it on.

Study your biblical history well and you will see what I am saying.

A lot of the books, gospels and texts that were not included in the bible refer to Jesus more as a man and not neccesarily god-like.The people who ran religion didn't like that so they left them out.
They are refered to as The Apocryphal books

The so called 'gospel of Thomas' was not inspired ny the Holy Spirit and only contained some references of truthfulness.

It is not completely true and therefore must be rejected.

I don't know why it was excluded. But let me say the council of Nicea didn't decide the cannon of scriptures...that was actually a later council (I think of Trent, but I'm not sure). The only thing the council of Nicea established was the concept of the trinity.

thanks

because it was written a hundred yrs after the death and resurrection of Jesus. As was the other Gnostic gospels. They were thrown out as unreliable to stop false teaching.

Probably the same reason they rejected the gospel of Judah, the truth is out there, but religion will suppress anything that is truth.
