has your cat been tested for F.I.V. (feline imunodefiency virus)? i have a cat whose i oozes every once in a while and i had her tested and she came up positive for feline aids. my vet said that's why her eye does that and that that is a common sign of a cat having the disease. she lives a normal happy life without any drugs and doesn't seem sick

Just like your eyes will water sometimes, it could just be from that. Maybe he got some kind of irritant like dust or pollen or a hair or something. Is the cat a domestic breed or a short-nosed breed like a Persian? Cats with smooshed faces tend to have more eye problems and can have issues with tear staining. Allergies are also a possibility. Ask your vet if it's OK to give Benedryl when your cat's eye starts acting up and he will give you the correct dosage. Make sure you take your kitty in to the vet to get the eye stained and look for abrassions if the eye seems painful (squinting the eye or rubbing at it).

There may be something on the cat's eye ball that you cannot see, what you should do is take the cat and a flsh light and look, see if you can see n e thing if not then maybe take it in, or maybe splash water on the eye first to see if it helps also. Your cat could have allergies to a perfume or air freshiner or something that you guys use every day.

Cats get pink eye too. You can get a saline wash that usually does the trick. Cats that have this problem tend to have a reoccuring problem. Always consult your local Vet. when anything is oozing from an animal. And always wash your hands before handling food.

Might be an infection or an allergy. Bring a sample to the vet's and see how that goes. Good luck!

it may be an upper respertoire infection from a number of things. i suggest you get an antibiotic called oxytetracyclene or terramicin. you can get it as an ointment to put straight in their eyes , or you can get a powder that you mix into their water. it helped me so much! so you can find the ointment in a pet store , but for the powder you would have to look in a feed store, and ask about how much to give your cat, as it is usually made for larger animals like horses, but just as well can be used on cats.

My cat's eye was doing this, and the vet looked into it with a light and found ocular herpes... yes cats can get a different strain of herpes, usually from fighting (my cat wasa stray)
Good luck!

You need to go back and see your vet and have them tell you what allergy it could be. Or could it be distemper?
