Leviticus applies only to Levites so you might want to omit that one from your list.
There are two Hebrew words which are often associated with homosexual passages and which are mistranslated in many English versions of the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament):
qadesh means a male prostitute who engaged in ritual sex in a Pagan temple . This was a common profession both in ancient Israel and in the surrounding countries. it is often mistranslated simply as "sodomite" or "homosexual." (e.g. the King James Version of the Bible, Deuteronomy 23:17). The companion word quedeshaw means female temple prostitute. It is frequently mistranslated simply as "whore" or "prostitute." A qadesh and quedeshaw were not simply prostitutes. They had a specific role to play in the temple. They represented a God and Goddess, and engaged in sexual intercourse in that capacity with members of the temple. to'ebah means a condemned, foreign, Pagan, religious, cult practice, but often simply translated as "abomination."
There is no term that means homosexual orientation in the original Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek texts of the Bible.
The authors of the Bible did not understand sexual orientation and thus did not write about it. Biblical authors had little or no understanding of same-sex committed relationships. Rather, they assumed that everyone was heterosexual, but that some heterosexuals engaged in sex with persons of the same gender. Thus, when you see one of these words in an English translation of the Bible, it is important to dig deeper and find what the original Hebrew or Greek text really means.

Dear Conservative Christian,
Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I
have learned a great deal from you, and I try to share that knowledge
with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind him that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate.
I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the specific laws and how to best follow them.
a) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a
pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They
claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
d) Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
e) I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?
f) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an Abomination (Lev 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?
g) Lev 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my eye i require reading glasses would my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?
h) Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev 19:27. How should they die?
i) I know from Lev 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
j) My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? (Lev 24:10-16) Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help.
Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.
Your devoted disciple and adoring fan

Of all the things going on in the world , wars, children starving, homeless families, terrorist, just to name a very few. Why on earth would you choose to spend your time or energy persecuting homosexuals. Doesn't god state in the bible not to judge. If god would send someone to hell for being in love regardless of the gender then what kind of god is this. Spend your time being a Christan by being more God like. Give of yourself, go volunteer, help out at your church, Be forgiving and loving and tolerant and nonjudgmental. This is the god I want to believe. Don't spend all this time trying to project prejudice and hate..Isn't there enough of that anyway.. If you are against homosexuality then don't be one..If you claim to be a Christan act like one. Jesus I'm very sure would not behave this way.

How many times do we have to say that the bible is flawed?
Please dont' quote the bible for the better half of us who have reasonable judgement regarding what was *written* in the bible!
The bible was written by man....
I've read the bible 15 gazillion times and can not come up with any conclusive explanation that it is the word of God.
HOMOSEXUALS are God's people too.
BTW...change your name from *Judy F* to *Judy F****d Up*
I'm not homosexual...but I love them!

Did you read these?
Matt 5:22 But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.
Mark 19:9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery."
And might I remind you these are words of JESUS and adulterers are in that list of people not making it to the Kingdom of Heaven so.... go tell all your remarried friends they're doomed to hell too :D

Why not mention ALL sexual sins instead of just the sin of homosexuality? God does not think that is worse than the sin of adultery or fornication. To God ALL sexual sin is the same.

Those verses, along with most of the bible, have been terribly mistranslated when in truth they have nothing to do with prosecution or hatred of gays, but that doesn't stop the fundies....

I'm not a homosexual and I didn't read them, nor do I care too.
why don't you put all of your energy into proving the existance of god and all that other nonsense and stop harassing people (homosexuals and non-believers) who haven't done anything to you
