There was a man that was reading the paper and saw that a man had been murdered in the Alps and he new who the killer was how can this be?

Ok let me add some details: A man was sitting in his chair at home in the us and he was reading the paper. He saw that their was a murder in the Alps. He realized it was the husband of a costumer he had served.He new what had happened. What was his occupation and how did he know?

Because he sold airplane tickets and the man who died had been travelling with someone and they bought the tickets, but the companion had bought one round trip ticket and one only to there ticket...because he knew that he wasn't coming back.

They had decided to kill her husband so they could be together and get all the insurance money. So, the husband went to the Alps carrying a ski with a defect. And had this unfortunate "accident" while the two lovers were thousands of miles away.
2. Change the profession of the lover: he sold guns to killers and hired this man to kill his lovers husband.

He was reading the paper while someone got murdered. he was probably in the alps relaxing in his ski resort room just him and a bottle of brandy. when some snow bunny in the cabin across the way cheated on her husband with her ski instructor. The husband got home and killed the ski instructor and the guy saw. He knows it was the husband. Or he was also watching TV and saw someone get murdered.

THe man reading the paper knows who the killer is because he sold their plane tickets to the wife; the wife had purchased a round-trip ticket for herself and a one-way ticket for her husband. She killed him; because she knew he wasn't going to return from the trip, she got him a one-way ticket.
