Once both parties involved are out of high school then age doesn't matter but if one or both are still in middle and high school and the age gap is that big then it matters a lot.

Look, my boyfriend is 29 years older than I am, but EVEN I will tell you that, AT YOUR AGE... a 4 year age difference is too much. 13 is very, very, very young to be with a 17-year old. When you are 13, you are still a kid, whereas the 17 year old is much further along towards adulthood. When I was 17 I went to COLLEGE, when I was 13 I think I was still playing with stuffed animals! Your parents have got to be freaking out.

When you're teenagers, the maturity level between ages is SO different. I'd recommend stopping this relationship. The kids who don't leave you guys alone are right. This relationship is not right. I know people's parents may have a bigger age difference, but the maturity level isn't such a big contrast b/t a 25 and 30 year old as it is a 13 and 17 year old.

I think Ur boyfriend being 17 and you being 13 is a little too much difference in age. When you think about it that's like a 7 year old with a 3 year old.

I think that you should ignore the teasing and remain with him, as long as he is a nice guy and you get along and like each other. You could think of it this way- There are only 365 days in a year, which means that you have 365 days to be a certain age. And that's not very much at all. That way, you two really aren't that far apart, and nothing's really awkward... there's not really much difference between being one age or a few years above or below. As long as you are happy with him, don't let the opinions of other people bother you.

Sweetie, you have your whole life to find a man that matters...and once you become of puberty age, you have to worry about kids...
Dump the dude that's 17, study hard, take care of yourself, eat right and exercise...oh yea, smile, you are beautiful and not another one like you...hormones are just that..here's a fact...
women are at least 2 yrs older in their way of thinkin!!
Slow down, dont worry bout a guy rite now or what others think!

yes, age matters because you are young and naivee. you dont have a lot of life experience and he knows this. it could be that, that's the reason he chose you because you could be easily manipulated. get with someone on your own level and if he really is 17 what type of loser 17 year old dates someone who has just become a teenager

if you were 18, it wouldn't matter. but you're only 13, so it matters.
maybe enjoy being a child first, think about having a b/f later on in your life.
being 13 only comes once in a life time. enjoy your freedom while you have it. being an adult can be alot of work.

wow.. what 17 year old boy would want to go out with a 13 year old, that sounds messed up.. he might be using you.

one you're over 18 age doesn't really matter.. but techinally for him, after 1 more year it'd be illegal for you to to go out
