She still eats her dry food, but this was Ms. Spoiled, who will only eat Elegant Medleys at 75 cents a can. A can in the morning and one at night, and licked the bowl clean. So I tried other canned food and she just walks away from it. Why would she so quickly refuse the canned food? Because she's a cat?

That is a good thing actually. Canned food is not healthy for cats, its like you eating McDonalds twice a day.

As long as your cat is still eating dry food, which is so much healthier for her, and drinking normally, don't worry about it!

Your cat will be healthier and you will save money.

If you really want to spoil your kitty, give her a can of tuna and see what happens.

Depends how long she has been refusing her canned food... sometimes my cats will all of a sudden turn up their feline noses at fod they have been enjoying for months - for no apparent reason. But I found that at such times, they will continue to gobble down dry kibble. So, I let hem have their way (dry kibble only) for no more than 2 days. Then I offer wet food again. Then they'll eat that with gusto. So... perhaps it's just kitty boredom... as long as your cat is eating and drinking, should'nt worry too much.

The most important thing you need to consider at this point is how much is she drinking. If she is drinking a lot of water suddenly....you need to see a vet. My cat got so picky I was changing her food weekly...soft, hard brands etc. The main difference is that she could not get enough water. She has been diagnosed as diabetic.....and as soon as I got her on insulin she is doing just fine with the original food she started on. Don't worry about if it is soft food or what not. When your cat changes her mind....something is up.

First of all, you definitely should NOT be feeding your cat 1-2 cans of wet food day. You must want your cat to die at an early age. Canned food is only meant to be fed to a cat or dog 1-2 times a Week (NOT day). Canned food is Very unhealthy for a cat or dog because it has fillers, sugar, fat, and tons of bad stuff in it.
My suggestion, cut down on the canned food and so what if she doesn't want to eat her wet food. She'll live longer.

Cats usually don't refuse food unless something is wrong. That she's still eating her dry food is encouraging, but you'll want to ask a vet about this.

Good luck!

She probably stopped eating this food becuase she knows what is best for her. Maybe she felt better energy-wise or physically-wise after eating the dry food compared with the wet food. Trust your cat!

I am glad to hear that she is still eating as that is a very good sign. It could be she tired of the canned food. My cats like variety in their canned food. Yes, cats can be very finicky.

Best wishes.

Did you change the brand? Some cats are so picky!! Mine love the expensive canned food too, but they'll eat the cheap brand just as quickly. As long as she is still eating, I wouldn't worry, she's probably just quirky.

you should try mixing it. it smells different to her; my dog did the same thing so i dont think its specifically cats. try mixing medleys with the new brand that you bought. first three quarters, then half, etc. after a week or so she should be licking the bowl clean again.

she may be Ms. spoiled but you should probly gradualy start to feed her all dry food. She may get the squirts if she eats to much moist food. And it's un healthy for your cat.
