Whats the difference between steps and stairs.? The plural of horse is horses the plural of cow is cows so why aren't sheep called sheeps. Why is a pear called a pear when there is only one? Why in the english language are so many words sound the same but are spelt differently.? eg:- Would - Wood, New - Knew, Piece - Peace, etc

I dunt understand, but I wood if I cood read write.
Inglish is hard langwege to lern . I dun't know it good.

Just funning… I was stationed in England for three
years many years ago, and we (Americans) would
tease the English about speaking English correctly.
“You say ‘shhedule’ (schedule) but you don’t say
shhool (school)”..(just some examples).
We would tell them that they needed to learn to speak English. It was all in fun, and they knew it..

And you look around 'Answers' at the appalling spelling and bad grammar and the reason is because the English language is extremely difficult to understand. This is what makes us better and more interesting than anyone else.

Probably cos English is a result of many Ancient Languages. (ANcient Greek, Ancient Roman, Latin, etc)

because it is one of the hardest languages to learn. even if we added more letters to the alphabet or made different spellings for words, eventually, we would roll back into the same pattern of homophones.

Yeah, and why is "Dyslexic" so hard to spell, why is "abbreviation" so long, why is "lisp" so difficult to say for those with the affliction, and don't you think it's sick that the word "Blind" has an "I" in it?

English is not hard, its just vocab. Try leaning Turkish, now that is hard.
