Lots of my homosexual friends go to church... heck, most of them are Christians, though a few are Jewish.
Why would they care about a story that teaches about the immorality of inhospitality? Sodom and Gomorrah were not destroyed for their sexual impurity (After all, Lot offered his daughters to be raped, if you recall...)

This is a bad generalization. Of course homosexuals go to church, not all of them but the same goes for heterosexuals.
It was not just homosexuals who were destroyed in Sodom and Gomorrah. We all fall short from the glory of God. God knows our hearts. We are here to learn to love one another, and help each other out.

That's a disgusting assumption about homosexual people, as I know plenty of them who go to church. And Sodom and Gomorrah have nothing to do with homosexuality...those places were destroyed for being inhospitable and exclusive. That's another disgusting and widely held assumption.

Wow! I think... you dont know there are two kinds (maybe more) homosexuals and thousends of homofobics doind this kind of questions.
Religion should be free for all humn kind, I am catholic, and I am not asking the people if they are gay or not...
remember that not all in the bible is going to be true, because it was made by humans, so if somebody think something was made by good, he just wrote it in this way.
Did you see any punishment from jesus to homosexuals? that is something near to our times... I dont see him being racist or talking about this subject... let it go = )

Best minister I ever knew in my life was a gay woman. Her 25 years and going strong partnership with another fabulous woman was the finest example of a marriage I have ever had the good fortune to witness.
Most of my gay friends go to church. Could it be because they believe god loves them and they know that Jesus never condemned homosexuality at all?

For myself, it's because I think the bible is rather ridiculous and I really don't care to associate with the lower primates that tend to congregate in churches.

There are Many HOMOSEXUAL Ministers that have Congregations of Homosexuals!
Church has nothing to do with it! IT is the Bible they have problem with....
(Romans 1:28-to-32) And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
(Rom 1:29) Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
(Rom 1:30) Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
(Rom 1:31) Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
(Rom 1:32) Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Thanks, RR

Those homosexuals who dont go to church maybe understand better than others that God does not reside in a church where they (homosexuals) could be persecuted for their NATURAL behaviour.
The others who do....hats off to them brave guys and gals....and leave them alone because your God is the same as theirs...
I'm not homosexual by the way....but I love them!

Way to make a sweeping assumption of an entire group of people. How do you know that all gays don't go to church? Look at Ted Haggard. He LED a church.

It's because they know that there's a good chance that if anyone finds out they're gay they will be shunned or otherwise made to feel unwanted. In some southern states I am sure it would be suicidal for a gay to go to a Christian church.
However, I'm sure that there are plenty of gay-friendly churches out there who accept people for who they are, not what sexual orientation, race, or nationality they are.
