I am from Virginia, but I was wondering if, in general, if conch meat is sold in the United States. If so, is it available on the Eastern coast of the US.

It is sold to restaurants and such in 5 pound frozen boxes.... like shrimp that you see at Giant which has been thawed from the same size box. Find a decent store (mine is Safeway) and ask if they can order it. Shoppers though service can be a bit rocky tends to order more foods related to the immigrant population. But if I was really going for it I would find a Wegmans. They know their stuff and seem to be really accomodating to special requests. But you know a lot of seafood is sold on the net to restaurants and people who really like to cook when they need a certain thing. Seafood shipped? Yes....... its shipped in a styrofoam cooler on dry ice. Actually fresher than buying something on ice in the display at the grocery store.

I know Jimmy Buffett's Maragartiaville In New Orleans and in Key West offer Conch Fritters. They are very good.

Go down to Ft. Lauderdale or Miama, FL. Theyhave tons of Conch chowder with Bimini bread. Yum!

I would think so, only because it is so commonly served in the Carribean (close to East Coast),. Maybe check the DC seafood market, and if not there, maybe a Florida market that imports it, they may be able to ship to you.

I don't know if conch is sold n the U.S. We have alot back home where I'm from, which is the bahamas!
