im a barista at a coffee house and im not too fond of Starbucks. I'll go there periodically but i prefer smaller owned coffee houses instead. Is there anyone else who believes in privately owned coffee houses than to Starbucks?

Oh yea i come from a place where everytime they try to build one, the very idea just gets shut down. I like the environment at the more local coffee shops, it feels like you are being treated by real people and not another corporation. And it is less proffessional usually, so you feel right at home, and no one is wearing uniforms, and starbucks coffee is not that great either.

Well, there are a few things I like from Starbucks, but I like in Boston, and there aren't too many independently owned coffee shops, unless you go outside the city.

I don't like Starbucks! Their name is all the hype they have. Mind you, I'm not a coffee person ;), but when I do go to a coffee house, I find the atmosphere in independent places much cooler.

I have never been to a Starbucks. I like plain old coffee, black, and on ice in the summer.

I think Starbucks sucks the life out of people who are stupid enough to pay that large amount of money for a cup of coffee.Coffee that taste just as good somewhere esle for half the price.

Ya i agree smaller businesses tend to be more dedicated to what they are giving you. There main focus is not making money its pleasing u and giving u the best cosumer service possible. Also a lot of it is homemade and does not come from a powder mixed with water.
I could do that :-p
