i told him he was cute. and he said yeah thank you he said everbody thinks that but he said he isnt as cute as brian. and brian is his friend that i dated for a couple weeks, but then brian told me we couldent be friend so me and his friend vic have been talking. is he asking me if i think he is cute

I think that maybe this guy friend likes you and was trying to test you to see if you still liked your ex. Because if you did like your ex, he'd back off cause even if his friend didn't want any relationship with you, he will feel like he has no chance, but if you deny it and play along, he will continue to pursue you because he thinks he'll have a better chance. Make sense? Its confusing for me too! But it all depends on whether or not you might acually think this guy is cute, or if you might like him too.
