Which way is the toilet paper roll supposed to be put on the holder?

I have always wondered this and have actually gotten into with several folks about this one. I've always known that the correct way to put the toilet paper on the holder is with the paper coming over the roll, as opposed to pulling it down from behind it (the roll). Does anyone have any opinions on this that they'd be willing to share? Thanks.

Over the roll, this being proven by the floral printed type, if it comes over the top, the design always shows, if it came from the back, the unprinted underside of the paper would show! And, it's more difficult to break off the paper at the roll if he comes from the back.

over the top is best. It's easier to roll off what you need. Putting the roll in where you pull it from the bottom it has a better chance of rolling out more then you wanted and dragging on the floor.

In even the best Hotels, the paper comes over the roll.

coming over the top of the roll, away from the wall. Appears as if the holder is 'offering' you a sheet.

Over the roll, towards the person. It's more convenient that way; otherwise, you have to reach behind in order to find it.

For some strange reason i always thought it went from down behind,and always put it on that way,but from reading some of the answers,it makes sense to put it coming over the roll,especially where theres floral prints involved...Gee thanks for the question!!!! :)

This has always bugged me... Over the top of course. I have actually reversed other peoples rolls without thier knowing.

WITH THE ROLL COMING OFF FROM UNDER , NOT ON TOP CAUSE TOO MUCH COULD UNDO OFF OF THE ROLL
