complain to the principal and the district board-PLEEEEEASE!!!!totally innapropriate.i was taught i n nursing school NEVER to embarass my patients-of any age-by registering disgust .nor should a nurse EVER request a patient to clean up!!she is unproffessional, innapropriate and a disgrace to the proffession.the position of school nurse is coveted and well-paid.if she is fired, many, many more competant and poised proffessionals would be glad to take her place.even worse than her lack of proffessionalism,is her lack of COMPASSION for a very young child.nurse should ="nurture>"she just doesnt get it..she's a disgrace, and as former nurse,i am outraged!ur son was treated abominably-please take action!!!this woman has to go !!!!!!!!!!u can also report her conduct to ur state's nursing board, and an investigation and discipline will be started.we take infractions seriously in the medical field.

I think that's INCREDIBLY wrong. How dare she. The child was ill, the vomit was not his fault. I think that nurse needs to be reported to the district. They have people who clean it up.
This really pisses me off. I'm sorry for using such language. Whenever I read things like this I automatically think "what if that was my son" he's 8 and I'd be livid.
I think this is wrong and she should be fired and maybe beaten. I can only imagine how the child must have felt having to clean it up. He was probably already embrassed by vomiting in front of a stranger [or at least someone he doesn't know well]. I would tell that woman off. I really would, she's wrong. I think this borders on abuse...how's that poor kid going to feel if he gets ill again and needs to see the nurse? He's not going to want to go!!! It's going to be embrassing. I think what she did was degrading.
Over the summer my son vomited on a bus FULL of adults going to work. Not one person said "eww" or anything. They just said "Poor little guy, he's probably too hot" and that's the way it SHOULD be. Your child didn't mean to throw up it was an accident.
I'm so angry right now. lol I should call this nurse. lol

I think this school nurse has NO BUSINESS being around children!! For God's sake...it's HER job to take care of the sick child and that means cleaning up after him if he vomits!! Whether or not HE thinks she is mean is irrelevant! Are you his mother? If so...get to that school quick like and in a hurry and let them know that this is completely UNACCEPTABLE!! If you aren't the mother tell the mother to step-up and defend her child. This has to be the most ridiculous thing I've EVER heard a sick child having to go through in school. Poor baby...if he were mine I'd have some nurse's head on a platter!!

I think that is very mean and immature on the nurse's part. Being a nurse, she should be willing to put up with the more unpleasant aspects of the job. She sounds like some immature high school babysitter rather than a professional nurse. Children at that age are very impressionable and should not be made to feel embarassed or uncomfortable. You can gently tell him to try and hold it till he gets to the bathroom but that is your job, not the nurse's. If I was the principal I would reprimand her.

I am a push over in most circumstances...however, in this situation I would be down at that school screaming like a banshee! Your poor sweet boy! My son is also 6 and all I can say is that nurse should NOT be in a school! And, I would make certain that the principal was taking ACTION to get her fired!!
Its likely that you are not the only parent that has had problems with her. Anyone with common sense and a heart would not make a child do that!

They have janitors to clean up when a child throws up at school. They have this powder stuff that clumps the vomit and makes it easier to clean. It also reduces the smell. Then they must use a sanitizer to remove the germs.
Also, nurses deal with vomit EVERY day in a hospital environment.
I think she is a WITCH! I would call the principal and the school board.
Poor kid is sick and she makes him clean up the vomit... She needs to be fired!

I think that the nurse needs a new job um I think it is highly inappropriate for a child to have to clean his own vomit its not like he drank to much at the bar came home got sick .. get what i am saying its not the child's fault shame on that child care person A nurse is supposed to make someone feel better when they are sick not make them do there work ..

Completely inappropriate.
Your child was ill. His responsiblity was to only himself at this time. She is an adult in a leader role. You need to get to the school tomorrow and have a conference with the school principal and the nurse. If that does not work, call the school board. Anyone who is employed in a school setting should put the child's needs first. She must have a sensitive gag reflex and it appears she is in the wrong field of work.

I think that's horrible. You should complain. That makes him feel ashamed for feeling ill or for telling someone, and he might in the future keep quiet when something is wrong. It's also quite humiliating, which for a child can be very, very upsetting. What a horrible thing to do to a 6 year old. Instead she should have been gentle and patient with him. It's also kind of worrying that he doesn't think it was mean. You should reassure him that there's nothing 'gross' about him being ill, and that the nurse did something wrong.
