It is your yard, however, evidently it is also visible to others. How old are the "eldest children".
Personally, I would not have my son running through my yard naked and he is just under 2 years old. People could get the wong impression sure, but I guess I would also worry about bug bites, getting bruises easier to bare skin (kids do rough house and play hard).
These days, people are so much more aware of child abuse, pornography, and neglect. I am not suggesting that you are involved in any of that, yet, to others who may not know you well, it could just fuel thier fire to see your kids naked as jay birds running through your yard. They could easily get the wrong impression as this woman did.
Hey, look what happened to Michael Jackson. He also thought it was innocent. Probably wasn't on his part but still, why invite your neighbors to call the authorities on you!

You didn't say how old they are.
I have checked where I live in Southern Calif. and the law actually reads that any child up to the age of 10 y/o can be nude in public. As long as you are out there with them and supporvising them there shouldn't be any problems legally except some harrassment from the neighbors.
You might want to have them in the backyard though instead of the front yard.

I wouldn't let my kids run around naked for the simple fact that there are a lot of pervs out there, but your neighbor sounds like a total b**** for threating that. I would never call welfare except if the kids were not being takeing of or being abused or neglected

I think it is a bad idea. With all the bad people out there you never know who is watching. If I were you I would worry about pictures being taken and ending up on the internet. I am all for naturalism and stuff like that but this is just not worth the chance of bad things happening.

I would never let my children run around naked, especially outside where pervs can see them. It's not appropriate. I don't know how old your kids are, but they shouldn't be running around naked in front of each other either. You need to teach them to have decency for themselves as well as for others.

I don't think it's illegal, but why do you allow that?
Children need to be taught to respect their private bodies, they need to be taught that it is not ok to go outside naked. And like other people have said, their are a lot of sickos out there, they could be taking photos of your kids with out you even knowing it, and posting them on the web, or tacking them up on their wall to jack off to at night... and you're letting them!
Let me ask you: would you or your husband run around the backyard naked? I doubt it, so why do you let your kids do it?

Depends...if they are tiny kids it may be okay, if they are in the back yard, not the front yard. Number of reasons...sunburn - they should be protected from the sun, perverts - live in every suburb, protection - less scratches and bites to covered skin. Why don't you just put clothes on them?

No. If you live in town especially. What if there were pervs living near you looking at your naked children?! If your neighbor can see them who else can?
Now if you lived in the country where no one else was around, then sure...but not in town...there are too many crazy people now a days.

Lucky kids! Let 'em run free, freeee!!!!!
Kids naturally like to take their clothes off and run around. It's what they do. As long as you are watching them and they are in your yard I don't see how Child Protective Services can do anything about it.

Naked is not illegal or abusive or neglectful unless the naked ones are running around in freezing weather or overly hot/sunny weather, or in situations that could cause them physical harm. As long as your kids are in your backyard and you are with them, they can be as naked as they want.
