Right now I'm in highschool, and I was wondering what classes I should take to be able to get into a good college. What should I do to make them accept me.

If you know what college (or colleges) you are considering I would talk specifically to your guidance counselor about these and plan yourcouse of study with these schools in mind. In general you want to balence taking a boad base of courses (e.g. science, math, english, a forgein language, social science and humanities courses) the courses should be college prep (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, physicis vs. earth science, or general science)...with the reality that good grades are also important. A "B" in a hard class will serve you better than an A in an easy class. Also don't forget that getting into college is about more than classes and grades. You need SAT and extra curricular. Do all this and you should get into a good college.

Talk to the school counselor or college adviser. There are probably are require courses you need.

AP math and English are a good bet. As much math and English as you can get, you'll need it for your SAT.

Typing too. You'll need it for all those term papers, not to mention all those emails.

Computer classes can only help you in the long run.

I've learned one thing about my education that I can share with you. About 90% of what you learn in college you will never need. The problem is, you won't know WHICH 90% you can ignore.

Going to college shows future employers that you have enough smarts to pass and you have "stick-to-it-tiv-ness" to complete something so challenging.

Good luck!

English (lots of it!), math, science, psychology and/or sociology, and history are all important now. Also include art, humanities, and/or music. Did you know that if you attend summer school, you will be able to graduate mid-semester in your senior year and attend college early? That is one option. Some students take college English and math in their senior year of high school.

I suggest you meet with your H.S. advisor and discuss your options. Best wishes.
