Fever blisters aka cold sores are herpes labialis, not to be confused with canker sores. There is no cure. Probably inherited but possibly contracted by kissing a person who has an open blister. They have to run their course. Wind or heavy sun can bring them to the surface of the lip area. Avoid getting your lips dry. Using lip balm will help. As far as the one you have now; keep clean and moist, carmax and or alcohol helps speed healing. There are many sites on a yahoo search for "fever blisters" which can give you more info. Two, three days with proper care and they will be gone.

Ok first off, just because you have a blister, does not mean you have herpes! The moron who said that does not have a clue. use carmax for the blisters. Also, a blister can be triggered by stress, dietary changes, or a fever.

Fever blisters on your lips is a form of Herpes. It doesn't mean you have the genital type, but it's possible.
You can still give the mouth kind to others, it's contagious.
There's a certain medicine you get for it, not sure the name. You'll probably always have outbreaks but can try to control them
Good luck

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes (type 2) about 3 years ago, whilst I was still in college and had a dumb one-night stand. I know lots of people say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a huge mistake that one time and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with a girl who has sores round her private parts? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/o32Dp everything changed.
Not only was I able to eradicate all traces of the herpes simplex virus from my body in less than 3 weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so lucky to write that just last week, in front of everyone in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!!! This system gave me back the chance to be happy and experience real love again. Now I want to help others by sharing this story.

dap perxiode on them and follow-up w/"Carmex" for cold sores. This solution works well as the perxiode kills bacteria and dries them up fast, and the Carmex has menthol that soothes them so they don't burn. Carmex has to be purchased from the drug store or some groceries carry it and I would recommend the ointment and use it as a daily lip moisturizer. Try to figure out if you are under a lot of stress or certain foods might bring on an outbreak. I've been dealing w/this for yrs. but have learned over the past 10 or so how to deal w/them.

if you get them a lot or really want to get rid of them you can get a prescription for valtrex (obviously its not natural and its very expensive if you dont have insurance. a cheaper but less effective alternative is acyclovir, its on target and walmart's $4 Rx list)
