-It seems that your feline may have had something indigested that didn't settle well with it and one of the natural ways to get rid of bad waste through our bodies is to vomit. Although not a pleasant reaction it actually isn't that much of a bad sign. In fact, whatever had been bad for your cat is in fact out now. Scotty, please don't worry . xo "irregualr meow noise"-like the description;)

You are in a dilemma - I would normally say no, because its utterly unnecessary in most cases, but if your cat is clawing your 3 year old, I would put it on the list as the last resort. But, scratching is a cats first defense against a threat, and a declaw might mean your cat resorts to biting, a much more dangerous thing to do. Also, the older the cat to declaw, the higher the chances that other behavioral problems occur, such as litter box problems. But, before you do anything as drastic as declawing, why is your cat scratching your child? I suspect the cat is reacting to something it doesn't like the child doing. 3 year-olds should never be left alone with the family pet. Young children don't have enough self control to realize that what the kid is doing is hurting or scaring the cat. Watch your kid like a hawk, stop any sort of behavior on the part of your child to get the cat to scratch. In a short time, you should be able to prevent kitty from scratching your kid. Also, if your child plays rough with the cat, try getting him a stuffed cat, and teach him proper kitty handling behavior, such as pet nicely, cats have feelings, and that bad behavior makes for a sad kitty. If your child is getting scratched while playing with kitty (Its how I had lots of scratches as a kid) Teach your child to play with a cat toy, like throwing mice so the cat can chase, or following a bit of string. Make sure that any sort of play happens as kid, through toy, cat. Not kid, then cat. Just make sure that when you can't watch your child closely, the kitty is locked in the basement, his own room, or even closely watching you as you do your thing. If you do keep kitty away from the child, just make sure you give the cat lots of out of room time, lots of attention, otherwise, you end up with a bored, psychotic cat who not only resents the child, but his new life. Back to the question, if you haven't tried the techniques above, then do so first. Also consider your cats temperament. Some animals (and people too) really can't stand children and have a hard time excepting them. This can make for a very dangerous situation for both kitty, and kid. If you fell that the cat is not handling children well, you might want to consider finding him a new home without children.

could be a number of reasons
-ate to fast
-ate a plant
- got into the garbage
- not feeling well

but if you cat seems fine there shouldn't be anything to worry about. a week ago my cat puked every 5 minutes for like 4 hours and had just gotten into the garbage. I dont think you have anything to worry about, but if you want at least call you vet in the morning to see what they say.

Sometimes cats will throw up hair balls. An old remedy that works is to put Vaseline on her front paws so that she licks it and it dissolves the hair ball. Once a week is fine. Purina Cat Chow has come up with a hair ball formula.Sometimes cats, like people vomit because they ate something that doesn't agree with them. If it doesn't persist then things should be just fine. Have a Purrrfect holiday.

My cat will throw up if he doesn't get his hairball medicine everyday. He also has allergies to certain cat foods. We feed him Purina indoor cat food and with his hairball medicine he is fine. Cats throw up sometimes because of hairballs or because they don't get green grass to eat. If your cat doesn't go outside buy them some at the pet store.

don't worry your cat probably couldnt digest the food well, ate some grass (dont worry it's common) and threw up, grass will help the cat throw up when its having a tough time digesting

Sounds like a hair ball. Is your cat an indoor cat? Indoor cats have more of a problem with this than indoor/outdoor cats.

cats at times do this. you could call a vet. but because cats clean themselves, hair is swollowed as they lick themselves. did you notice any hair in the vomit or the cat's stool? if so they are coughing it up. if not, the hair balls get stuck. you can get a gel or treats that help get the hair out of their system. look at pouncetreats.com. if your cat continues to get sick call a vet. i've had cats all my life, that's what happened every so often to mine. betty boop

It wasn't a hair ball? It could be gastroenteritis, it may just clear up on its own. How is it acting otherwise? Any other odd behaviors? If so take 'em to the vet.
