they all have a god that must be blindly followed and obeyed. the god will need continual ego massage so they must spend a lot of time on their knees grovelling. they all pray to this god and ask for things but never get anything in return (except imaginary responses). they all promote narrow mindedness and that any other religion is wrong (and often other sects of their own religion).
their god does not really exist.

Ok I have just read some of the answers before answering this. a) they do not all teach about one true God. Hindu's believe in more than one god. they have different gods for different purposes. b) they dont all teach about love. Show me in the Koran where it talks about love.
My answer would be they all talk about an entity greater than yourself. Be it wicca and the mother entity, hindu and their higher entities, Muslim and Alah, Christian and the trinity, Budist and the higher realms, that new silly one about starwars and the force, scientology which makes you feel weak so they can make you feel strong ....................................... The list goes on. They all have something that fills a gap in your life.

Teach the kid what to believe, and not to teach them how to know the truth by their own.

"Keep your eyes to the ground. Eyes to the ground, people. Obsess over death, and fear your possible afterlife: give to us, obey us, be part of our mental totalitarianism. Tolerate no dissent, tolerate no criticism. Proselytize, evangelize, be missionaries, "witness" to your friends and co-workers.
Eyes to the ground. There is no sky, no hope, only death, and the preperation for it. Feel fear."

Every religion teaches about the one true God of the Universe. We worship and pray to God. Different names , but the same true God.

Some version of the "Golden Rule". Love others as you would be loved. Jesus used the "love your neighbor" analogy...but they all seem to have it in one form or another...

Love.
That's it. Just love.
Different religions tell you who to love, what to love, how to love, why to love, when to love, and they are all different.
But every religion tells you to love.
