The symptoms of rabies typically appear about 4 days after the bite occurs. But in rare cases, symptoms don't show up for more than a year.
One of the most distinctive signs of a rabies infection is a tingling or twitching sensation around the area of the animal bite. It is often accompanied by a fever, headache, muscle aches, loss of appetite, nausea, and fatigue.
As the infection progresses, someone infected with rabies may develop any of the following symptoms:
irritability
excessive movements or agitation
confusion
hallucinations
aggressiveness
bizarre or abnormal thoughts
muscle spasms
abnormal postures
seizures (convulsions)
weakness or paralysis (when a person cannot move some part of the body)
extreme sensitivity to bright lights, sounds, or touch
increased production of saliva or tears
difficulty speaking
In the advanced stage of the infection, as it spreads to other parts of the nervous system, other symptoms may develop:
double vision
problems moving facial muscles
abnormal movements of the diaphragm and muscles that control breathing
difficulty swallowing and increased production of saliva, causing the "foaming at the mouth" usually associated with a rabies infection.

If you're undoubtedly certain that the cat has no longer been external and has no longer been uncovered to animals that move out then it's commonly unattainable for him to have rabies. Cats chew for lots of explanations, worry, annoyance, anger, displaying dominence, and simply seeing that. The most effective exams for rabies are to maintain the cat limited for a interval of 10 days to two weeks to be certain it does no longer turn out to be in poor health with the indications you learn approximately or to have it killed and its mind tested. The US Centers for Disease Control says that even as rabies might take months to occur in an animal the one time it's contagious (and the one time the animal will act ill) is after the sickness has moved into the animals mind and saliva. Then quite often inside three-five days it's going to be very seen that the animal is ill with the indications you learn approximately. If the cat does begin to exhibit thise sympoms in the following couple of days you then do ought to take it to a vet and it does ought to be validated despite the fact that that suggests striking it to sleep that is honestly kinder than letting it gon by way of a terrible loss of life from rabies in an effort to uncover out of you want the human prevenataive rabies therapies in order that you don't get ill and die. It might be very well to your cat - each cats - to visit the vet and get his pictures and so that you can do not forget having him neutered seeing that it's going to aid calm him, quit him from territory marking (peeing or spraying) to your dwelling, make him much less prone to turn out to be competitive with you and together with your different cat and aid him be much less prone to get the inspiration of strolling out someday while you open the door and no longer coming again or getting very ill if he did get out and get right into a combat or used to be uncovered to a further animal who used to be ill. I'm pleased you rescued him and gave him a well dwelling and that you just have an understanding of and receive his no longer being a cuddly kitty. He is blessed to have you ever.

My cousin had rabies one time, a fox bit him while he was feeding his chickens.
Anyway he got real sick and weak, and the bite site on his arm turned red and bloated up.
He finally went to the doctor and they had to put him in the hospital and give him 40 shots.
Anyway, before the shots, he was foamin out the mouth and moaning.
