If you are getting her ashes back then it will be a private cremation..just her, however if you didn't specify or pay for a private cremation and to get her ashes back then it will be a group cremation with other dogs and cats.

No, If you are specifically having her individually cremated it should only be her ashes you recieve back. Make sure that this is the case because there is also the option of mass cremation. If you choose mass cremation there should be no return of ashes to you. If you are not sure make sure you check with your vet right away to see what the deal is. Individual cremation is usually done by a seperate company, I would make sure this is the option you chose- there is usually a seperate fee involved directly to that company. I would hate for you to get the wrong cremation service for you pet. I am very sorry for your loss. I understand what you are going through- I just lost one myself a few months ago. I did have the individual cremation done and dealt with the other company seperately for payment. We use this service regularly at our clinic and the company deals with the all the pets respectfully. Again, I am so sorry at the loss of your friend.

A community cremation is normally only done if you don't pay the money to get a private cremation. Since you paid a lot of money for a private cremation, your animal should be cremated privately, but you need to call the company to confirm. If they won't tell you and you are uncomfortable, cancel and have another company do it.

I went through this same thing. Good Luck

Where I have had my pets cremated unless you pay for a private cremation they put several animals on a tray with dividers in between them so that you only get your pets ashes back.
I always do the private and it runs 65.00 extra to do so. I have many clients that use the other option and have been very satisfied with it though. Hope this helped. I am sorry for your loss : > (
Here is what the place I use says on their web page
Cremation Service

We provide two types of cremation service(*).

Private: same day service, only pet processed during cycle, pet's cremains returned in an urn.

Individual/group cremation: 3-5 working days, pet may be processed with other pets during cycle.

(*)Many people wonder, "will I get my own pet's cremains?"

Unlike other cremation facilities who may charge less, may only offer a "represention" of your pet's cremains, Pet Rest Gardens does not comingle cremains. Each pet is assigned a location in the cremation unit and identified. You can be assured the cremains that are returned are those of your pet and only yours.

I am sorry to hear about you dog. I have lost 2 of my babies this year and I had them both privately cremated.

At my vet, if they are privately cremated (and you get the ashes back) your dog is the only one cremated at that time. If it is mass cremated (you don't get the ashes back) and they are cremated with other dogs. Also, many states have legislation about crematories give ashes back that are not who they say they are.

Sometimes there can be a small amount of residual ash left over from the last cremation, but any reputable company is going to make sure that the oven is as clean as possible under the circumstances. Often, if asked, they will allow you to inspect the facilities.

Wow, that was expensive!

A friend of mine has a pet cremation business. She does them all alone unless people don't want ashes back. She is very ethical and treats the pets with respect. I would like to think that most are like she is.

no this is not true you will only receive her ashes as each animal is cremated individually i know how you feel i thought the same when my first dog died but the crematorium put my mind at rest and i have since had my other dogs cremated there

Yes, at times dogs can be cremated with other dogs. Be sure to advise your vet that you want your pet cremated separately to ensure that the ashes returned to you are you pet’s personal remains.

It will depend on where you have it done.

I had my dog cremated at a private crematorium, and they are very careful about cleaning after each animal. They only do one at a time. Some places that cremate pets are not so careful.
