i would suggest buying dry and wet food and mixing it together and giving that to her and try to make her eat it or just dont give her people food anymore and sooner or later she will get hunger and go eat her food because you are not giving her any of your food...hope this helps and good luck...

She is spoiled. Generally you can fix this with a little "tough love". Eliminate any treats, human food, or canned food. Give her dry food only. Personally I think it's best to put the bowl down 2-3 times per day, for about an hour, and then take the food back up if she does not eat. Leaving the food down all day is OK, but you won't know if she's nibbling throughout the day, unless you put just a small amount in the bowl. The idea is to be able to NOTICE if & when she begins to eat it. She will not starve herself. She will eventually get hungry enough to eat what is offered to her, and she will learn that she must eat when she is given the chance. You can also try soaking the kibble with a little warm water. Sometimes this makes it more appealing to dogs & it still keeps her away from "people food".

Stop giving it to her or put her on a raw diet.
Give her a high brand of kibble or wet food (if it has a commercial or can be purchased at a regular store then its no good. I have found the best of the best come from the feed store but sometimes have to be ordered off the net) Innova (and all of the other brands made by the same company), Chicken Soup for the pet lover's soul, Eagle Pack, and Natural Balance are really good
As far as raw food goes. Read about it first. Dont worry dogs take to it well after a while.

To stop finicky eating, I give dogs balanced dog food the same time everyday and give them 15 minutes to eat and then take it away. After 2-3 days all dogs learn to eat food that was designed for them. If whining and or begging in the kitchen is a problem, remove the dog and put him in the back yard Mitzi will learn. Mitzi needs to learn how to behave in your human pack. Try not to leave food on the floor or any accessible areas. You're the Alpha female not the dog. Have a great holiday.

Just stop giving it to her. I know they can look extremely pitiful, but, you're not being cruel by not sharing your food. If she doesn't eat her own food, don't worry. She won't let herself starve. Just start putting her food out for about 15-20 minutes at a time. If she doesn't eat it by the end of that time, take her food up. She'll eventually catch on that dog food is all she's going to get. It may take some time, so be patient.

I just adopted a dog from the humane society. Rosie is a chihuahua. She weighed 12 lbs when we first got her. She now weighs 10 lbs. Still way too heavy for a chihuahua. Apparently she was fed mainly table food. She refused to eat her kibbles the first week, which made me very worried. The vet said to continue ignoring her when she stares at us while eating and refuses her food, because one day she would start eating what is available for her. Finally after about 9 days she started eating her kibbles with gusto! She loves it so much now! I'm glad I stayed strong and refused to let her win. It's for her own good- she will live longer- that's for sure!!! She still stares at us while we are having our meals... and follows us to the kitchen and licks the floor, but as soon as she realizes that all our food is put away, she runs (yes- she can run now!!!) to her bowl and eats her food- every single one.
Make sure you have water available at all times while training your dog to eat dog food.

Start putting your dog into another room when eating. When you are finished then bring her out and feed her dog food. Eventually she will stop begging for food. It has to be a learned behavior. You can't just expect her to learn in one or two days. Do this everynight for about a month or so.

Almost all dogs like human food. They can really become regular beggars. The way to stop them is to stop feeding them human food. Only offer them healthy dog food, and eventually they will stop,

You need to stop giving her human food and just stick to dog food.

That sounds so much like my Chihuahua BJ. He is about 13 pounds and loves food. He prefers human food but will be satisfied with his dry dog food. I dont feed them as much human food as my BF does. I feed them doggy treats.
