its really young just started to grow in its grown up feathers and I was wondering is this normal for the age thanks its not all black just about half way up.

thanks everyone so much yes he/she is very very young yet. Right now we have it in a next box and it will stick his/her body half way out and start attacking the perch its so cute.

Black on the beak is indicative of a very young budgie. Usually it disappears after a couple months or so.

Yeah, a lot of birds will have black on their beaks. This is ok and will grow out eventually, just make sure you keep cuttle bones for him/her to keep his/her beak trimmed down or else it will overgrow and you'll have to take to a vet to grind it down. You can buy these at pretty much any pet store. Here's a link:

This is common in young birds it is perfectly normal and will out grow it when he/she gets a bit older.

yes this is very normal and will disappear within a month or two

yeah the lil dudes tend to... they outgrow it with age.
