Good question...ask your newly-elected Democrat party controlled congress to do something about that.

Then, sit back and watch the military haters come out against it.

This volunteer military is not paid crap...they move right up the payscale and are well compensated in pay, education, training and funding and insurance and medical coverage. Paid to learn if you will. What job pays that today??? Why do so many make a career out of it? Why do reservists volunteer to go to Iraq? Initially they were back fill for the active duty folks who went overseas...now they volunteer. More pay, good pay.

A big portion of the cost in Foreign Aid is for purchase of supplies, transportation and distribution of the goods, etc....it doesn't all get to the needy. You forget it is an industry like all others...keeping our economy going.

Sorry, its all about money ...good, bad or indiffeernt. It's what make the world go around isn't it? That's my opinion and I'm stickin to it.

tricky one....
i believe that the military get paid pretty well. but not enough for risking their lives. there is no wage that can compensate that. but i believe that we all need to do something in foreign aide (as in the rest of the world, for example US especially) because there are just too many people dying. but they also have to help themselves. i dont know what country you are in so i dont know how much your military get paid, but im in Australia and apparently they get paid pretty good. if you are in the US..... have a think about hurricane Katrina and how it took Bush how long to start helping new orleans etc.

Sorry to say this, but military personnel are expendable. Why spend money on the expendable?
