What are some good tips to over come shyness?

Shyness is really hard to overcome and it might sound weird but it can actually take practice. I used to be really shy, but I found a group of friends who I feel completely comfortable with and all my shyness just melted with them. Of course I still get shy around new people, but I found that if I have at least one of my friends around it is easier to make new friends. Sometimes I just swallow and take a deep breath and that seems to help. You just need to remember that 1) No one can make you feel inferior without your consent and 2) Take chances, sure you might lose, but you will inevitably lose if you don't try.

Alchol is courage in a bottle but NOT recommended Unless you wanna make a fool of yourself.

What I found that helps overcome shyness is talk to random people in chat rooms start up a convo build on that and then just go out and talk to anybody

Go to walmart and strike up a convo with the cashier. Or just start talkin to your friends more.

The biggest thing is be relaxed cause your gonna be suave when your relaxed

Listen to other people and come up with some standard "scripted" things that you can say. How do your friends open and end conversations? (or people that you want to be friends with or that you admire for their people skills). Memorize a few ideas so that you won't be at a loss for words. "Hey Mary, how's it going? What have you been up to?" for an opener say. And then "Well, I gotta run. See you later!" for a close. Or whatever works for you. Plan some stuff to say ahead of time. Practice if you need to. "Are you going any where for the holidays?" "Tired of all this rain yet?"

Just do it....throw yourself into whatever your shy about.....then you have to sink or swim. And once your in the middle of something, you won't be so shy.
