My boyfriend is trading in his Ford truck and looking for something cheap and efficient to commute to work in. He found an offer for an '01 Hyundai Elantra and is interested. I was wondering for any owners of this vehicle what your thoughts are on it?

I have a 2000 Hyundai Elantra, I bought used (now selling) and I must say it is a great little car. I have a spoiler, A/C, power windows, sunroof, 4dr, cruise control.. GREAT car. Go for it the 2001 models a pretty cool looking too.

I don't have an Elantra, but I do have a 2000 Sonata and I love it. It's a V6 and it's got some great get-up-n-go power. I have had problems with it but I think it's because the previous owner didn't take very good care of it. Anyway...I think overall that Hyundais are great, no matter what one you get.

i work on them all the time as a Hyundai mechanic. they are a great car any if serviced regularly like any car , should last a long time.

great gas saver. beware of who you purchase it from.i wouldnt buy it if it was 100,000 miles on it cause thats about the limit on those cars til they start falling apart.
