And it seriously takes like 1 hour just to put the files on my computer, then another 30 minutes to burn it on disk. im using dvd-r and dvd+r disks

Because blank DVD media is smaller in size as compared to stamped DVD media. You will have to use that program to compress the video so that it will fit onto the disc. Depending on the speed of your DVD rom, processor, ram and burner. Yes it could take an hour or more to create and burn the image. As far as I know there is no media available that will take all of the information that is stored on a retail DVD.

while you're burning the DVD from a action picture record alongside with an AVI or something it is going to make an effort. even though if it fairly is a in the present day forward ISO or VOB data it wont take everywhere close to as long (on maximum DVD recorders approximately 30 minutes max). the challenge is that it has to transform the DVD from the action picture record format (AVI/DIVX/XVID/and so forth) first to uncooked format, and then it needs to re-encode the uncooked record to VOB format (MPEG2). that's the place it fairly is taking it fairly is time. in case you have been to get a hardware MPEG encoder then this might heavily velocity issues up as on the 2nd this is applying application to decode and encode the MPEG it is extremely slow. There are not many hardware decoders accessible and maximum come outfitted into television taking part in cards and might in undemanding terms be used to checklist stuff off the television card and not stuff your changing.

well ,you dont state
1) how fast your burner is
2) how fast your computer is
3) how much hard drive space you're working with
4) the speed of your hard drive
5) how much ram
6) what you are copying from the DVD disc itself. If you copy everything, including extra features, menus, and stuff, then it can take a long time to back up all of that unnecessary stuff.

I run it on a 1.6 ghz computer with 512 megs of ram, with a 10x DVD+R/w/DVD-R/w and back up of a dvd takes only 30 minutes with Dvd Shrink and Dvd decrypter

Yes, Movies can actually take longer if you fill the DVD. Also you might be able to copy those movies but they probably won't play properly.

It depends on the size of the file and the speed of the drive.
