Very little water in your pot. If you have a vegetable steamer, I'd suggest using this. Have the water boiling hot. I normally don't salt the water, crab legs are normally pre cooked, and really all you have to do is heat them up. It doesn't take long to cook, maybe about 10 mins tops. If they are not pre-cooked, I'd try to have them in the boiling water for about 15 mins.

I have a strainer that fits perfectly into my small stockpot. I add a few inches water to the stockpot along with 1 lemon sliced in half & a sprinkle of Zataran's seasoning. I place the crab legs in the strainer & steam til done ( if pre-cooked about 7 - 9 minutes, fresh about 14 - 16 ) Serve with fresh melted garlic butter.....Wonderful....

I am so envious!!! Steam them over boiling water for 8-10 minutes. While you're doing that, melt a stick of butter with a lot of minced garlic and the juice of a lemon.
Enjoy it for me, I'm out of crab legs! :)

i like to steam them or bake. right here is instructions on some approaches: To steam crab legs Pour 2 cups of water in a steamer or a super pot, upload a million tablespoon of salt and produce to the boil. upload the crab legs, putting them onto a rack contained in the backside of the pan or into the steaming basket. because of the fact the water starts off to boil back, initiate timing. Steam the crab legs for between 5 - 7 minutes, until you may start to sniff their aroma and until they're heat. Take care to no longer overcook the legs as they have already been cooked as quickly as. eliminate from the warmth and serve warm with melted butter and lemon wedges. To boil crab legs a million/2 fill a super saucepan with chilly water and upload a tablespoon of sea salt and seasoning in case you opt for. carry the water to the boil and then drop the crab legs in. cut back the warmth slightly and permit the crab legs to simmer and warmth up for 5 - 7 minutes. eliminate from the water and rinse the crab legs. Serve warm. To bake crab legs Preheat the oven to 350°F (one hundred eighty°C). Crack the full crab legs and place them on a baking tray. Brush the crab legs with butter or oil, seasoning and lemon juice and bake contained in the oven for 8 - 9 minutes. To microwave crab legs Wrap the crab legs in a moist paper towel and cook dinner on severe for 2 - 3 minutes. Serve warm with butter, cocktail sauce or lemon wedges.

I actually prefer to bake them. You don't have all the water to deal with that way. I make some cuts in the shell so it will be easier to get the meat out. I put them on a flat pan or casserole dish (whatever you use, it has to have some sort of edge). Bake them at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes

boil them until they float (5-8 min depending on your altitude,) then serve with butter (not margarine) melt the butter on low heat and remove the clear liquid with a spoon or a baster. (you use the clear liquid to dip the meat. That is similar to "drawn" butter...Bon Apetit!
