I need to write about why a book is great. What sets a specific book apart and above others? What does it do to the reader?

Detail! Being descriptive, the story line, person-ability, being able to hold an audience. the style of writing, is the writer long winded or straight to the point can this writer make u see the action so u feel like u are a part of the story when u read it????

Well written words on an interesting topic are as essential as mass appeal and availability to the masses. Holy books and dictionaries are good examples. Literary or editorial genius have mass appeal, as evidenced by the works of Charles Dickens still available more than a century later. or the various collections put together of the photographs of Ansel Adams. A great book has enduring mass appeal.
