Baptism can not be undone...however baptism is just an outward statement of an inward change. Baptism is NOT the way to salvation, it is NOT the cleansing of sins. Baptism gets its start in the Old Testament, look at all the times that someone was told to immerse themselves or wash with water after something had passed. That is the Mikvah. Going through the mikvah symbolises something going from common to holy...it can be made unholy again by improper use or contamination.

There is no need. For example, the word "Atheist" should not exist. I do not go around saying that I am not a doctor nor a physician nor a race car driver! Then why do I have to say that I do not believe in a improbable deity? To undo a ceremony that you believe no longer means anything is to give too much credit to that ceremony.

If our existence is improbable so much so that a supreme being had to create us, then I say that the creation of a supreme being is that much more improbable.

To Catholics, no. Once you are baptized, we believe that it leaves an indellible (excuse the spelling) mark on a person's soul. This is part of the reason the Catholic Church recognizes baptisms performed by other Christian denominations. Once done, can't be undone. Even if a person completely separates him or herself from the Christian Church or gets excommunicated, he or she has still been baptized.

Unless you have a time machine, you can't go back in time to change what you did. You can however start to live like the devil and every promise in the Bible will be undone, just like that Revelation 22.

For those of you who value ritual, I would suggest designing one for yourselves that involves rejection and desecration of Christian sacred symbols. For me, this was a very cathartic activity and helped me let go of a lot of stuff. I know you're probably asking this as a joke, but this sort of thing could be a good route to go regardless.

Try going through the desert, on a horse with no name. (It will feel good to be out of the rain.)

In the desert you can remember your name, 'cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain.

That should dry you up in a hurry.

We should come up with a standardized ritual for leaving Christianity behind.

LOL...I dunno!

I was christened as a baby, and baptized by the christian church at 14.

Maybe we should just roll around in the dirt, seeing as though a "baptism" is a cleansing of sins.

Or, we could just have lots of premarital sex or something...who knows.

If you don't want to be baptized anymore.. then why are you worried about it? If you don't believe in what it represents.. then you shouldn't have to "un" do anything. Forget about it and go on... Sounds to me like your very confused. and there is something deeper going on with you.

Nope. It is one of the Sacraments that is "indelible" - Baptism is the New Birth...it conveys Sacramental character that cannot be "un-done".
