I mean i dont want to say i disbelive but, many,if not too many people belive that its gods fault for our exstiense, or beign homosexual, and a criminal. thay blame not themselves but demons and angels whan something good happens or bad, to me they only leave their apprehanssions to an athropomorphic entity.
im not asking for "truth" since truth is percieved differently, but opinions.

If our existence is improbable so much so that a supreme being had to create us, then I say that the creation of a supreme being is that much more improbable.

It is a sad state that so many believe that the above statement is false.

I will suggest a different reason:
I'm not suggesting it is "right" or the "only" reason but it goes something like this. I think your question is a VERY good one and one that needs to be answered. It is amazing that almost all cultures at least at one time belived in a God. It's also very telling that they have different ideas of God depending on where they were raised.

This suggests a biological reason based on evolution: We evolved in a very dangerous world - a world of large animals that could eat us, as well as being around other humans/hominids that could kill us. It was a necessary product of our brains that we figure out the intentions of both animals and other humans. We had to know what motivated them and try to guess what they were thinking. From this, we look at objects (other humans or animals) and assume that there is "something" that motivates or drives them.

That bacame a condition of our biology where we always assume a motivating force behind an object (how many of you yell at your car when it is not behaving properly?). When we look at how other things work, we assume some motivating force naturally. As people began to apply this to things like weather, volcanoes, wind and the world in general, these became our ideas of Gods.

Parents of course reinforce these beliefs in their children, who do not question their parents until they become much older, so the religious seeds are planted very early, and grow quickly.

As far back as we can reach, there has been some form of religion. Some say that's because people were looking for a way to explain their existence, and that is a valid opinion.
My own opinion is that it is a built in response for human beings to reach out for God...
Why so many different religions? I dunno, but I can conjecture, same as anyone else. Perhaps, long before the time when facts became legends and legends became relegated to myths, everyone knew their Creator...but, as time passed, and people grew apart from each other, those ancient truths became garbled and/or lost completely.
So, why am I a Christian?
For me, in all of these different religions, I see people reaching out to God.
Only in Christ do I see God reaching down to man.
That is my opinion, and probably not worth very much...but my faith gives me hope and comfort, and I am happy in it. I do not try to force other people to believe as I do, but if someone asks me, I will try to answer as honestly as I can.
What more can anyone expect??

Most people believe in what theyre told to believe in. Church leaders refer to the followers as their flock, as in sheep....says it all really.
I dont care what anyone believes, its their right, I object, however to the expectation that I should join them in their collective delusions. Their intensity is disturbing, and their need to convert others is clearly an indication of the level of insecurity that they have regarding their so called beliefs.
I questioned the validity of religion when I was about 8 years old, being forced to go to church. What man could possibly have the right to tell us how, where and when we should worship god? Who had the right to write all the prayers and the words that the priest read and we responded with ?
It was obvious to me then that religion was just dogma used to control people. (obviously at 8 yrs i didnt know of the word dogma but the sentiment was there).

I would rather Believe in GOD and have a chance at heaven than not believe and have to explain that one judgment day . In my life experiences when I pray about something I make better Decisions. I have difficulty believing that there are so many people who don't.believe but it is a personal decision

people are afraid of the unkown, afraid to exist no more so they tell themselves they will always exist if they believe this or that.

people want something else to put the blame on when things bad happen, and give credit to when something good happens.

if u think about it. we are all raised dependant upon our parents, eventually we outgrow that, but i think deep inside most people still have a dependancy, and they put it on a god. those who dont believe outgrow that and are independant. have no problem facing world and worldly problems alone.

But it seems kinda strange that they tend to believe in the same gods that people around them. If you are born in India, chances are you are not going to be a Christian. What's up with that?

Some people need a crutch to get them through life, and something to blame when things go wrong.
